A 24-hour udon restaurant near Seokchon Lake: Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch (행복한우동가게 석촌호수점).

I revisited Haengbokhan Udon Gage Seokchon Lake Branch, a great udon spot in Seokchon, for lunch this time. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, and the pork cutlet we ordered alongside our noodles was tasty too, making it an easy place to stop for a meal. Since it is open 24 hours, you can have a warm meal even late at night; in weather like this, it also seemed like a nice place for a casual drink at the outdoor tables.

Parking area and outdoor tables in front of the restaurant

There is parking right in front of the restaurant, but in the evening this space is set up with outdoor tables. It is great for a meal or a drink with that outdoor pub feeling, and because it is open 24 hours, you can visit comfortably even late at night or at dawn.

What are the indoor tables like?

Clean indoor table seating

The interior was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space between tables. There are dedicated restrooms inside, so it was easy to use them :)

Separated seating with framed Korean-style artwork

There was also a separated seating area on one side of the restaurant, and the framed Korean-style artwork on the wall quietly caught my eye. There are lots of international tourists around here too, so little things to look at like this are nice, haha.

Clear fish cake udon broth and thin noodles

Here is the fish cake udon we ordered. It had a generous amount of several kinds of fish cake.

Fish-shaped fish cake in the fish cake udon
Fish-shaped fish cake ❣️

I like bungeo eomuk (fish-shaped fish cake) so much that I buy it separately whenever I stop by a fish cake shop! I am always happy to spot it in a dish with fish cake.

Katsuobushi-based broth and thin udon noodles

The clean katsuobushi-based broth came with thin udon noodles, which suited my taste more than thick noodles. This hot broth will probably be even more on my mind once the weather turns chilly 😋

Spicy pork rice bowl and old-fashioned pork cutlet

Sweet and spicy pork rice bowl with smoky flavor

The sweet and spicy pork had a proper smoky grilled flavor, and mixing it into the rice made for a satisfying meal.

Generously sized fried old-fashioned pork cutlet

This was the old-fashioned pork cutlet we ordered alongside it. The cutlet was generously sized and fried nice and crisp, which I really liked.

Old-fashioned pork cutlet with fruity sauce

The pork-cutlet sauce had a bright fruity taste, so I could eat it without feeling heavy right through to the last bite :) Ordered with udon, it makes a hearty meal.
