I'm introducing Insaeng Donkatsu, a Dongtan restaurant we visit so often I've lost count of how many times we've been.

If you live in Dongtan Mokdong, you've probably spotted this Insaeng Donkatsu location! It started in Dongtan and has since opened branches in Gwanggyo, Gwangmyeong, Yongsan, and more.

It's a Dongtan Mokdong favorite of ours because you can get pork cutlets with sauces and toppings you rarely see elsewhere, always at consistently great quality.
Insaeng Donkatsu Dongtan Mokdong hours, break time and payment
Insaeng Donkatsu Dongtan Mokdong Branch is open daily from 10:50 to 21:00, with a break time from 15:30 to 17:00. Hwaseong local currency is accepted, and delivery and takeout are available.

Is Insaeng Donkatsu easy with kids? Subway-station interior and sofa seats
The playful interior feels like you've stepped into Japan, and the restaurant is spacious and comfortable, so bringing a stroller and a kid wasn't a hassle at all. The owner is friendly too!

The inside is designed to look like a subway station, which gives it a genuine Japan-visit feeling :) The tables are generously sized and there are sofa seats, so you can eat comfortably.

Shared cutlery containers at the table get touched by a lot of hands, but Insaeng Donkatsu keeps their tableware in a self-serve sterilizer at the bar, which always felt hygienic and reassuring.

For parking, you can use the building's basement lot or the nearby Mokdong public parking lot.
Insaeng Donkatsu menu prices and the Mon–Thu daily menu discount
The menu has a lot of special pork cutlet sauces like sweet pumpkin cream, gorgonzola cheese, and wasabi cream cheese. I haven't tried everything, but every single dish I've had so far has been a hit.

Prices here were already reasonable, but for their 2nd anniversary, they've added weekday menu discounts from Monday to Thursday, so you can get select menu items at an even more reasonable price.

And the pork cutlet + pasta/cold soba/udon set menus come with generous portions plus the discount, which I think is truly excellent value.

Each dish comes out neatly plated on a tray, so whether you're dining alone or with someone else, it always feels tidy.

Spicy cream pork cutlet with draft beer, my husband's favourite pairing
Among everything, my husband's favorite combo is the spicy cream cutlet with draft beer! This is the restaurant he comes to most for solo meals on days I'm not around..

Insaeng Donkatsu's signature is this fried lotus root on top of the toppings — apparently it reflects the restaurant's philosophy of making clean food, like how lotus root purifies water!

The cutlets are genuinely huge, filling the plate in a way that's hard to believe for a price barely over ₩10,000.

The pork loin itself is really thick-cut, so even people with big appetites will walk out patting their full bellies..

The pork-and-beer combo we first tried here has become something we order every time. We always have a cold draft beer with it too :>
I've also tried the spicy cream as pasta, and whether it's cutlet or pasta, this sauce never fails — with garlic and broccoli and other vegetables mixed in, you don't get tired of it even by the last bite.

It's labeled spicy, but even people who can't handle spice should be able to eat it. Of course the other sauces also look great and taste distinctive. I still remember being impressed the first time I tried the gorgonzola cutlet haha

What comes in the 12,500 won pork cutlet noodle set with cold soba
Today I ordered the solo pork cutlet noodle set. Great value at ₩12,500!

I chose cold soba instead of udon. It comes with a refreshing bowl of cold soba plus a half portion of the classic cutlet, and even at half size, it felt like a lot of food.

In winter there's a jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) set which I've tried before, but this was my first time having the cold soba since it's summer, and the broth seasoning was just right. I dumped in a ton of wasabi and finished every last bit!
They apparently receive domestic Mokwoochon pork loin fresh every morning. If you're looking for quality, thick-cut pork cutlets that are easy to visit with kids in Dongtan Mokdong, come try Insaeng Donkatsu haha
