Sweet crispy chicken for four in Uijeongbu: Dalgom's 1.5-chicken order
In short
Dalgom's is a takeout-and-delivery dakgangjeong (sweet crispy fried chicken) shop in the old chicken alley of Jeil Market in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. For a family of four, Dalgom's packed one and a half chickens split across three flavors — sweet, spicy chili-garlic and bburinkle (cheese-onion powder) — and the spotless shop, frying in fresh batches four times a day and the generous rice cakes all stood out. Dalgom's is the rare chicken shop where everyone gets their favorite flavor from a single order.

I love fried chicken, but my family actually prefers dakgangjeong (Korean sweet crispy fried chicken) even more. On a Friday evening when nobody wanted to cook, we headed to Dalgom's in Uijeongbu's Jeil Market.
Where is Dalgom's in Uijeongbu, and where do you park?
Dalgom's is located in the old chicken alley inside Jeil Market in Uijeongbu. You don't have to walk deep into the market to find it. If you park at the Jeil Market parking lot, they'll give you a parking coupon.

How clean is the Dalgom's shop inside?
Dalgom's apparently opened two years ago, and this was my first visit. The moment I walked in, I was genuinely surprised — the shop was spotless.

I always figured a place that fries chicken would have at least some clutter from oil or food debris, but this place was different. I don't think I've ever seen a fried chicken shop this clean. I can only imagine how careful the owner is about hygiene. If you're sensitive about cleanliness, you should definitely check this place out.

There's no dining space inside, just a waiting area for takeout orders. The chairs are small but cute, and you can watch the sauce being tossed while you wait, so the time passes quickly.
Dalgom's menu: three flavors in one and a half chickens
Dalgom's, a dakgangjeong favorite in Uijeongbu, lets you order from half a chicken up to one and a half chickens, and you can mix multiple flavors in one order.

The flavor options are sweet / spicy (chili-garlic) / bburinkle / garlic soy / cheese mustard / fried. Since our family of four was eating together, we ordered one and a half chickens split into three flavors.
- 🍗 Sweet
- 🌶️ Spicy
- 🧀 Bburinkle
Maybe because it was one and a half chickens, the bag felt heavy from the moment we picked it up.

Fresh frying four times a day and calling your order ahead
Dalgom's apparently does the first fry four times a day. That means they get a lot of orders, but I also liked that they don't fry a huge batch all at once — they prepare in smaller portions throughout the day. Even for takeout, that means you can eat it a little fresher.

You can also call ahead. If you phone in your order about 10 minutes before you arrive, you can pick it up right away without waiting — handy if you're stopping by on your way home from work.

Tasting the sweet, spicy and bburinkle dakgangjeong
Bburinkle was my middle-school daughter's top pick. It's that familiar cheese seasoning flavor kids tend to love.

My elementary-school daughter loved the sweet flavor the most. The seasoning itself isn't too strong, so it's fine to share even with younger kids.

My husband and I both chose spicy! Of the three, this was my favorite. The sweet sauce with a touch of heat is the kind of flavor that keeps pulling you back in for more. That said, the spicy flavor might be a bit much for younger elementary school kids. If you're eating with kids, it's better to pair it with sweet or bburinkle.

The dakgangjeong itself was great too. The batter isn't overly thick, and there's plenty of actual chicken meat, so you really get that meaty bite when you chew. There's also plenty of rice cake mixed in — I love when dakgangjeong comes with rice cake, so that was a big plus for me.

Is one and a half chickens enough for a family of four?
These days, ordering one whole fried chicken is nowhere near enough for a family of four. On top of that, Dalgom's lets you pick up to three flavors in a single one-and-a-half-chicken order, which is a huge plus.
Even within my own family, everyone has a different favorite flavor, so being able to order one menu item and still have everyone eat what they like was great. Not many dakgangjeong shops let you mix that many flavors in one order. The kids got sweet and bburinkle, my husband and I got spicy, and nobody had to compromise. The price isn't a big burden either, and the fact that the whole family can each pick the flavor they want — that's a real advantage for eating as a family.
Ordering Dalgom's delivery on Korea's public delivery apps
Dalgom's, a dakgangjeong favorite in Uijeongbu, currently ranks #1 for Uijeongbu dakgangjeong on public delivery apps. If you're thinking of ordering delivery, compare prices on public delivery apps instead of just the usual ones like Baemin. You can order for less through public delivery apps like Baedal Teukgeup, Ddangyo, and Meokkaebi.

If you prefer takeout like I do, just call 10 minutes ahead and pick it up. If you'd rather have it delivered, order through the app — either way works depending on your situation.
Is Dalgom's worth a trip to Jeil Market?
After trying this, I think I'll be stopping by whenever I crave dakgangjeong on my way home from work. Of the three flavors, spicy was hands down my favorite. Next time I'll try the flavors we haven't had yet and mix up a new combination. Whenever I'm craving dakgangjeong, Dalgom's in Jeil Market will be the first place that comes to mind. Another delicious meal today!
