My boyfriend and I were looking for somewhere to eat dinner on Songridan-gil and stopped in at this izakaya.

It's a place that serves both sashimi and pasta, so I figured it'd be good for the two of us to share.

What kind of izakaya is Motokurashi?
Motokurashi is an izakaya 365 meters from Exit 1 of Seokchon Station, tucked inside Songridan-gil.
It's not on the first floor — it's unit 202, so you go into the building and head up, and the wooden door marks the entrance.
It only opens after 5 p.m. as a dinner-only spot, so you can't go for lunch.

The menu has both traditional izakaya dishes, like assorted sashimi, and pasta side by side.

If you feel like sashimi alone isn't quite enough and want to add a cooked dish, there are plenty of options.

Motokurashi menu prices
Here are the prices for the signature dishes.
- Motoku moriawase (assorted sashimi) ₩39,000
- Salmon jang ₩32,000
- White fish with mentaiko mix ₩32,000
- Abalone innard pasta ₩21,000
Sashimi dishes run in the ₩30,000s, pasta in the ₩20,000s. We ordered the moriawase and the abalone innard pasta, so food alone came to ₩60,000.
Two dishes and two drinks at Motokurashi: the review
Two glasses of Kelly draft beer
After the sashimi was laid out, we started with draft beer.
They serve Kelly on tap, not just in bottles, so you can get it as a draft.
We split two glasses and finished the sashimi plate first.

One tokkuri of sake
After the beer, we switched to sake. They don't sell it by the glass — you order it by the tokkuri (sake flask), which worked well for the two of us to share.

Drinking it in the later part of the meal, while there was still sashimi and pasta left, made for a natural close. Overall, we both left satisfied.
Abalone innard pasta, 21,000 won
I picked this to add a warm dish after the sashimi.

It's ₩21,000, a cream-based pasta made with abalone innards.

Eating sashimi alone can get a bit much halfway through, but putting this in between kept the flow going without a break.

Motoku moriawase, 39,000 won
This is the signature dish we ordered first. At ₩39,000, it's on the pricier side of the menu here.

It comes as a plate with several kinds of sashimi gathered together, which was perfect for two people to share.

If it's your first visit, this is an easy dish to start with since you get to try a variety of types all at once.

How to get to Motokurashi from Seokchon Station
It's 365 meters from Exit 1 of Seokchon Station on Subway Lines 8 and 9.

It's unit 202 at 27 Baekjegobun-ro 41-gil, marked by the wooden door — no need to look around on the first floor, just head straight up.
