Booking a Re-Born perm near Exit 6 of Sinnonhyeon Station

I finally got my perm and I’m back. I searched hard for a place where a perm would cause minimal hair damage, then got a Re-Born perm from Senior Designer Jiyeon at Park Jun Beauty Lab Gangnam Branch, a Sinnonhyeon Station hair salon known for layered cuts and wave perms!! It’s near Exit 6 of Sinnonhyeon Station, so the access is very good.

Go in through the entrance on the right side of the building and head up to the second floor—there’s an elevator!

The manager welcomed me sooo kindly the moment I opened the door, and a staff member showed me how to put my things in the locker. I had iced chamomile welcome tea, and the real teacup was even tinier and cuter than it looked in the photo hahaha.

The drink menu has Americano, chamomile welcome tea, peach iced tea, and Idol Honey Green Tea. They even brought me another fresh drink later while the protein treatment was on my hair!

Consulting on the Re-Born perm curls I wanted

After putting my things in the locker, I sat here.

Then I filled out this chart! When I showed Jiyeon the photos I had brought, she showed me several photos of curls and shapes I might want and explained them in detail. I loved that she helped pin down exactly the style I wanted!

I went with the Re-Born perm as originally planned! We also decided on step-by-step high-concentration protein infusion and a bangs perm.

This is the overall vibe of the salon. There were lots of customers.

A light cut for my medium-length hair

The photo makes it look long, but before the perm my hair was a little longer than medium length…? It fell somewhere between my shoulders and chest. Looking at it like this, it is SO obvious that I hadn’t touched up my roots for a year… I guess I need an all-over color hahahaㅠ

The number-one thing I always hear at salons: “You have a lot of hair.” Haha… I hate how heavy my hair feels toward the bottom, so I had it thinned out lightly and trimmed my bangs into a see-through style too.

Choosing the solution after damage and hold tests

After the overall cut, I moved to the shampoo room. They carefully checked the condition of my hair and then chose the solution! It was my first time seeing a salon roll up hair to test how well it would hold a perm.

They mixed a protein ampoule into the solution, applied it to my hair, and I waited under the machine…

A comfortable atmosphere even while waiting

Looking around while I waited. There were so many foreign customers that I asked whether all Sinnonhyeon Station salons were like this, and they said it was the influencer effect… hahaha. Apparently their scalp spa??? head spa?? is famous. They seemed to do detailed diagnoses with that mirror over there… The manager speaks English incredibly fluently too. I heard they studied in New Zealand.

My hair was rolled up for the perm, then I waited through the heat treatment. While they were rolling it, I chatted with the designers about everything from EXchange to Dubai… totally impossible-to-predict conversation topics hahahaㅠㅠ It seemed like the staff and designers all got along so well! At a lot of salons, designers can be awkward and businesslike with one another or give blunt instructions, but this place felt warm and respectful, so I was at ease. That’s kind of important when choosing a salon too, right…?

Hydrated Re-Born curls after 3 hours

The whole appointment took 3 hours, so I used the restroom midway through. It was ventilated, spotless, and had cotton pads, cotton swabs, a headband, cleansing foam, and wet wipes. Such amazing attention to detail,,,!!! As someone sensitive about cleanliness, I was completely satisfied. This is how it looked from the back! Even after the perm, my hair wasn’t dry or rough—it felt hydratedㅜㅜ

Even more amazing: there’s an Insane Four Cut photo booth inside the salon…

I left completely satisfied after turning my suffocating bangs into airy see-through bangs.

Jiyeon works so quickly and is so skilled! This is the kind of place you should go to: everyone is unbelievably kind from beginning to end, the facilities are thoughtful, and your hair turns out pretty!! I’ll come back someday,,, I recommend it to anyone looking for a hair salon near Gangnam Station or Sinnonhyeon Station!
