I'm Jojanggeum, a Korean-Western-Chinese certified cook. With fig season in full swing, I went hunting for a sweet, delicious fig dessert. Today's Seoul Forest dessert café pick is Andamiro Pancake Seongsu, located right on the Seoul Forest café street. The pancakes look like something out of a fairy tale, and this weekday lunch gave office-worker me a genuinely happy little escape in Seongsu.

How the classic soufflé pancake and coffee taste

We ordered an Americano, a café latte, and the classic soufflé pancake! Since the pancake is made fresh to order, it took about 20 minutes.

The kind, thoughtful staff member brought our coffee to the table first, so we got to sip and relax while we waited.

The atmosphere was so nice that even an everyday coffee felt special and worth savoring — the nutty beans were lovely.

And finally, today's star arrived — the Andamiro soufflé pancake, piled generously with seasonal fruit! Pineapple, blueberry, shine muscat grapes, figs, and banana, all heaped on without holding back.

We'd also added vanilla ice cream, which came out in its own separate bowl rather than plopped straight on top — a nice touch.

The soufflé pancake had this irresistibly soft, pillowy texture — like a baby's cheek! I believe it's made by whipping egg whites into meringue and folding that into the batter.

It tasted just as good as it looked! A melt-in-your-mouth texture and flavor — the kind of special experience that sticks with you for a long time.

It really was a soufflé pancake with the gorgeous, fairy-tale look to match. And the cream wasn't your average cream — it's homemade custard cream, which made it even smoother and more melt-in-your-mouth.

They didn't skimp on the seasonal fruit either, so it was fun picking through the variety as I ate. And the cold, sweet vanilla ice cream against the warm soufflé pancake — opposite temperatures, but they went together beautifully!

It looked so pretty that even I, someone who's not great at food photography, couldn't stop snapping photos! This is the kind of sweet dessert and dreamy space I'll be thinking about whenever I'm craving something pretty and sweet.
