Dalgeuraem, a new bakery café in Gyesan-dong, Incheon
Salt bread — the kind you never quite forget, or rather, can't stop craving. Lately I've been really wanting some. And you know it's fig season, right? So I went out looking for fig cake. These days pretty cafés are popping up one by one in Gyesan-dong too, and since Dalgeuraem (달그램) is a newly opened spot, I was curious and decided to visit! It had a clean, comfortable vibe, so it was nice for a light coffee and dessert.

Dalgeuraem's warm wood exterior on a quiet residential street
It's located in a residential neighborhood! And the café's exterior is so full of mood! Exactly the vibe I love. Warm and cozy~ Even before going in, the exterior was pretty enough to catch my eye. The wood-toned windows blended with walls that felt like an old European building, giving the whole place a vibe like a little bakery tucked in a small European village!

The plants and vintage props by the entrance, plus a big Eiffel Tower model, made it really photogenic too! With the wooden window frames and warm lighting, every detail felt cared for, so my mood lifted even before I stepped inside 😙 I saw a lot of people just taking photos of the exterior.

Parking and seating at Dalgeuraem
No parking in front of the store! We ended up parking in a nearby alley, but the store signage said to use the underground public parking lot at Gyesan Sports Park nearby! Just so you know~!

Inside, there were about 6 tables, I think! From 2-seaters to 4-seaters. Definitely more women customers, and a fair number of couples too!! And so much delivery and takeout going out. This place's salt bread is seriously, seriously good.

Ordering salt bread and pistachio fig cake
They had a wide variety of coffee, non-coffee drinks, ades, and teas! I wasn't planning to eat bread... I wanted the black sesame cream latte, but since we were having cake and salt bread, I ordered iced latte, iced Americano, salt bread, and pistachio fig cake~!

There were so many kinds of bread!! And so many cakes too. They were divided into plain cream and yogurt cream. It took quite a while to choose.

Crisp, chewy salt bread with an iced latte
Ta-da. I ordered a lot, right? Everything except the iced Americano was mine, haha. Salt bread is all about that crispy outer texture and moist, chewy inside, right? It was the kind of taste you keep reaching for without any guilt. Just a taste that keeps your hand moving toward it. There was a subtle saltiness that kept the plain bread from feeling bland, and it was perfect with the latte, ugh. I can't forget the latte and salt bread combo.

Pistachio cake packed with fig between the layers
There was a subtle pistachio aroma, and figs were packed in between every layer of cake!!!!! Ah, so good. The pistachio's distinctive rich, nutty flavor means that even people who like sweet desserts but find overly sweet ones too much should be able to enjoy this one just fine!

It was super soft and paired really well with coffee. It looked like honey had been drizzled over the figs(?). Sweet and nutty~

Small touches, right down to Dalgeuraem's restroom
When I go to a café, I honestly care a fair bit about the restroom too, and here, even the restroom was pretty. Dalgeuraem kept the same aesthetic all the way to the restroom, decorated in a clean, charming way that matched the rest of the store without feeling out of place?! Most of all, seeing hair ties, bobby pins, and even cotton swabs prepared in the restroom, I thought the attention to detail was genuinely impressive. These are exactly the things you're caught off guard without when you actually need them, and I could feel how much thought went into making it comfortable for guests, down to the smallest details. These little touches of consideration are probably what makes people want to keep coming back :)
It seemed like a nice spot to chat with a friend, or to come alone for some quiet bread time! If you're looking for a newly opened café in Gyesan-dong, I recommend Dalgeuraem! It's great for a simple coffee and dessert, and if you like salt bread or unique cakes, there's fun in picking through the menu too. Give the new Gyesan-dong café Dalgeuraem a visit~.~
