While looking for a café in Anyang's Dongpyeon-maeul, I came across Notten — the vibe looked good and the desserts looked delicious, so I stopped by. I usually like enjoying a pretty dessert along with my coffee rather than just drinking coffee, and this place won me over with its clean space and good-looking menu. There's a window seat with a green view outside, which would be lovely to sit at on a nice day. It also seemed like a good spot for quiet conversation over coffee, so I wanted to introduce it to anyone searching for café recommendations in Dongpyeon-maeul.

Front of the black-toned Notten café building

Notten feels clean and modern right from the building front. From the outside, the overall black tone gives it a sophisticated look, and there's a little garden-like patch of green grass and trees in front of the café that added to the atmosphere.

Inside Notten: window seats with a green view

Stepping inside Notten, it's mostly wood-toned furniture with clean white walls. The tables are unified in a natural wood feel, giving off a warm atmosphere, and the big windows show the green scenery outside as is — personally, this was my favorite part.

There are large tables by the window and seats where several people can sit together, making it good for visiting with friends. The overall quiet, calm atmosphere makes it a great pick for anyone looking for a comfortable place to hang out among Anyang's Dongpyeon-maeul cafés.

The window side especially looked bright with sunlight coming in, which was also great for photos.

With natural light hitting the tables, drink and dessert photos turn out pretty too. 😆

If you like taking photos at cafés, the drinks and dessert together make for a pretty shot.

The cherry plum latte photographed nicely alongside the dessert too. It's relatively refreshing to drink, with a smooth base.

With the nutty topping piled on top, it looked toasty and sweet just from looking at it. You get injeolmi's (sweet rice cake coated in roasted bean flour) signature nutty flavor together with the peanut's toastiness, so it felt more like a dessert than a regular latte?!

Scooping up the cream and topping on top first gives you that nutty, sweet flavor, and mixing it with the drink below makes it smoother to drink. If you like nutty flavors, this one will suit your taste well!

And the dessert I was most looking forward to that day was the choco ice cream choux.

Notten's choco ice cream choux

It looked really tempting just visually — handmade vanilla ice cream sits on top of a cookie choux, generously drizzled with Valrhona chocolate ganache.

On top of that were pistachios and homemade pistachio paste, making it a dessert where the deep sweetness of chocolate came together with pistachio's distinct nutty flavor.

The handmade ice cream is soft and delicious. It's ice cream, but it doesn't melt as quickly as you'd expect??

The cookie choux has a crisp exterior, while the ice cream inside is cold and soft, so eating them together made for a fun contrast in texture. The Valrhona chocolate ganache adds a deep chocolate flavor, so chocolate lovers will be very satisfied. It's not just a plain sweet chocolate dessert — the pistachio pieces mixed in cut through the sweetness with a nutty balance, which made it delicious! If you like the pistachio and chocolate combo, I'd recommend this one.❤️

What kind of day is Notten best for?

Notten worked well whether I wanted quiet conversation over coffee, dessert with a friend, or a light café date. I especially liked how clean the space was and how green the view outside the window looked. 🌿💚 On a nice day like now, sitting by the window with coffee would be a great mood-lifter.

For anyone searching for a Dongpyeon-maeul brunch spot, this is also a good place to enjoy dessert after a meal, and the atmosphere fits a casual café date too. If you're looking for café recommendations in Dongpyeon-maeul that offer both a pretty space and good desserts, Notten is a solid choice.

Overall, the atmosphere of the space and the menu lineup went well together at Notten. I was glad to have found, on this visit, one more café in Anyang's Dongpyeon-maeul where you can enjoy both atmosphere and dessert :)
