Lake-view bakery café with a dog zone in Pocheon: Geurine Oasis

Today I visited Geurine Oasis, a café near Gwangneung Arboretum in Pocheon that's perfect for this cooler, fall-like weather :)

I'd actually been to Geurine Oasis once before. That time I went with my family at dusk in late autumn, when it was pretty chilly, so we did fire-gazing outside — and the memory of that fire-gazing was so good! So this time I was curious what Geurine Oasis would feel like on a late-summer afternoon instead, and went back haha.

Where is Geurine Oasis, and is there parking?

The address is 442 Jugyeopsan-ro, Sohol-eup, Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, 1st floor. There's a large parking lot too, so I didn't have to worry about parking.

Even the exterior gave off a Southern European vibe, and it blended so well with the surrounding scenery that the mood was great before I even walked in! Personally, in a place like this I just wanted to sit alone and zone out haha. Inside was clean and cozy, and there were more tables than I expected, so it looked like a good spot for groups too.

The building at Geurine Oasis is cool, but honestly the outdoor area is even better! Stepping outside, the view opened up completely, and even my stuffy mood cleared right up.

It looks like this area was still under construction last time I came, but now there's a separate space like a dog zone where dogs can play! Even though I just stopped by on a short drive near Pocheon, it felt like I'd actually traveled out to somewhere near Gomo Reservoir.

Walking into the café, the smell of bread drifted over — apparently they bake their bread in-house. The interior design was so pretty too.

There were so many kinds of bread, so I picked something to go with our coffee.

What we ordered: three iced drinks and chocolate Malenka cake

We ordered an iced americano, iced café latte, iced vanilla latte, and chocolate Malenka cake. Looking at the menu, there were plenty of premium teas alongside the coffee, so even non-coffee drinkers had lots of options.

The coffee here was rich and delicious, so we really enjoyed it! The chocolate Malenka cake we had with it had a subtle butter aroma and was so soft, pairing perfectly with the coffee. Eating good coffee and bread while looking at this view, just sitting there felt healing.

Fire-gazing and dog-friendly seating: is Geurine Oasis worth the drive?

Thinking about it, I get why it's called Oasis. Sitting here after being stuck in the barren everyday world felt like my thirst was briefly quenched! You don't even need to travel far to enjoy this kind of calm in nature and get a change of mood, hahaha.

For first-time visitors, I'd really recommend trying the fire-gazing too!!! When I came at dusk last time, we did fire-gazing and it was really nice. Rather than the usual rough-and-ready fire pit setup, it's decorated in a slightly more refined way, so the mood was great too. On a nice day, spending time sitting outside doing fire-gazing would be so lovely haha.

They also allow dogs here, apparently. It seems like a good Pocheon café for anyone planning a nearby outing with their dog.

A place that let me feel like I'd traveled somewhere far, even though it was just a short drive away! If you're looking for a spot near Gwangneung Arboretum in Pocheon with a great view and space to relax, I recommend Geurine Oasis, this large Pocheon bakery café :)
