Shaded terrace seats, low-acid coffee at Pocheon café Geurine Oasis

My husband and I 👩‍❤️‍👨 travel a lot these days. Last weekend we went back to Pocheon for the first time in almost 5-6 years. The only café we visited on our 1-night-2-day Pocheon trip was 📍Geurine Oasis.

I got a discount through Superchart, but as always, here's my honest review!

It's a huge café with indoor, terrace, outdoor, and pet zones — perfect for zoning out with a view in weather this cool.

Honestly, if the photos come out nice, that's basically all that matters — haha.

On the last day of our Pocheon trip, before heading back, it felt like a waste to just leave, so we looked up cafés — this one's interior looked prettier than the others, so we went. It's already famous on SNS, and once we got there in person, I could see why. You'd be a criminal 🧑‍⚖️ not to visit a place like this when the weather's this nice.

Weekend parking at Geurine Oasis: was it easy?

Geurine Oasis has parking spaces in front of the café, but since it's such a hot spot, parking and finding a seat aren't exactly easy on weekends or during peak times. When there are a lot of visitors, the lot can fill up completely, and if there's no space, apparently you have to use a nearby public parking lot.

Still, turnover is fast, so even though we went on a weekend, we were able to park right away!

Inside Geurine Oasis: two separate buildings

The café has two connected buildings — one for ordering, and the other seemed to be for indoor seating plus fire-gazing(?).

Since it's a bakery café, there were plenty of breads I wanted, but we'd just stuffed ourselves with Chinese food right before, so we only ordered one slice of Malenka cake and coffee,,ㅜ

Which seat has the best Gomo Reservoir view?

The first thing that caught my eye the moment we arrived was, without a doubt, the reservoir view spreading out in front of us. Whether you sit indoors by the floor-to-ceiling windows or out on the terrace, the layout puts the lake right in view, so just sitting still feels healing. It was a place to quietly lose yourself gazing at the ripples — literally an oasis in the middle of everything.

We got a prime spot right facing the lake, but there was no shade right above us, so it was a bit too bright and glaring..haha (we moved seats not long after)

Malenka chocolate cake, coffee and the reusable cup

The Malenka chocolate cake tasted exactly like you'd imagine Malenka to taste — dense, chewy, and soft, true to a honey cake. A great thing here is that they use reusable cups, so whether you're taking out or not, you can bring the cup home!

And the coffee was really good. It's hard to find a large bakery café with coffee that actually suits my taste, but this was exactly what we like — no sourness, nutty, clean, and refreshing!

Shaded terrace zone, indoor seats and the pet zone

After the glare and worrying about getting sunburned, we moved to the shaded terrace zone and were very satisfied ^^ (though I have no idea why people don't seem to sit here much)

Of course there are also indoor seats with the AC blasting.

Since dogs are welcome here, there's also a separate pet zone(?). Inside that fence, there are seats where you can let your dog off-leash while you drink your coffee!!

Why Geurine Oasis belongs on a Pocheon trip itinerary

If you're deciding on a café for a Pocheon trip, I'd recommend this one! With water views, a huge café, and dogs welcome, it has so many strong points ✨ The reusable cup makes it feel like you got a little gift 💝

There's also a well-maintained deck walking path along Gomo Reservoir right in front of the café, so pairing a walk with the café — to help digest — makes for a perfect full day out 🎀
