I've been craving sushi so much lately, and while looking around I found Sushi Doku The Songdo near the Songdo Hyundai Premium Outlet 🤍 A friend recommended I check it out if I was looking for a good sushi spot in Songdo, so I finally went and tried it myself.

What comes in the Sushi Doku The Songdo signature sushi set
From the menu we ordered the ✔️ signature sushi set. It wasn't just sushi — it came with salad, fried shrimp, karaage, udon, and chawanmushi all together, so there was a lot to enjoy at once 🤍

Inside the Onesta Mall 2nd-floor dining room and the service
Walking in for the first time, the interior was clean and the atmosphere relaxed, making it a nice place to eat. And most of all, the staff were so friendly that I could start the meal in a good mood. The whole space felt tidy and upscale, which I really liked 💗

Salad, fried shrimp and karaage, all on one tray
After a short wait, the signature sushi set arrived, generously laid out as a full spread! Before we started eating, a staff member explained the order and way to eat everything. The salad was light and a nice way to wake up the appetite, and the fried shrimp and karaage were crispy and perfect as sides alongside the sushi. Everything came out hot, so eating it right away made it even tastier 🤍

Truffle chawanmushi (steamed egg custard)
Personally, my favorite item was the truffle chawanmushi! Soft steamed egg custard with a gentle hint of truffle aroma — a totally different feel from regular chawanmushi. Various ingredients were mixed in as well. It wasn't strong-flavored, and the texture was smooth and slightly chewy — eating it as a kind of appetizer before the sushi was genuinely delicious,,👀

Hot udon with the set
The meal also came with warm udon, which made it feel really filling! Sushi alone might have left me wanting a bit more, but with the warm udon added in, it felt like a proper full meal! The noodles were chewy and the broth was exactly the kind that goes well alongside sushi — classic Japanese-restaurant udon vibes.

The 10 kinds of sushi, piece by piece
The main event, the sushi, had a really great lineup ✨ ✔️ Salmon, flounder, akami tuna, squid, red shrimp, sea bream, snow crab, sweet shrimp, eel, and anago liver — 10 different kinds to try. Each piece was plated cleanly, so it looked really appetizing in photos too 🧡 Even just from the pictures, the variety and the fullness of the spread was satisfying before I even took a bite.

Trying them one by one, each fish had a different texture and flavor, which made it fun to pick and choose 🤍 The red shrimp and sweet shrimp had a sweet, soft taste, and the thick cuts filled the mouth nicely.

Among the sushi types, the anago liver, which I personally love, was also a real treat! It had a savory, soft flavor, and there was so much of it that the savoriness spread through my whole mouth.

The salmon was piled on thick, well-aged, soft and savory 💗 The flounder had a clean, chewy texture, and the squid had a clean taste that was easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. Every single piece of sushi was delicious, so it was fun picking through them all.

Warm plum tea to finish the meal
Overall the food tasted great and the set felt substantial — a satisfying place! The staff were kind and the space was clean, so I could eat comfortably. And finishing the meal with warm plum tea showed real thoughtfulness!

If you're looking for a clean Japanese restaurant or sushi place in Songdo, I highly recommend Sushi Doku The Songdo 💗💗💗 It's especially great if you want to try several kinds of sushi at once. I went after being recommended it while searching for good food in Songdo, and both the food and the service were satisfying overall — a place I'll think of again whenever I want sushi.
