Deep Crunch chicken set eaten hotel-side at Songdo outlet: Angry

I stopped by Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo on a recent trip to Songdo. This outlet is a place I end up at pretty often when I'm in the area, since there's plenty to shop and browse. This time I was wandering around and got hungry, looking for something quick to eat, when I found Angry Potato Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo Branch. Honestly, since it's just potatoes and chicken, I didn't expect much at first haha, but it turned out way better than I thought and ended up being the most memorable thing I had this visit. If you love fries, I really, really recommend this place 💛💛

Hours and how to find it in the outlet

Open daily 10:30–21:00, closed only on Lunar New Year and Chuseok

It's a little tricky to find inside the Hyundai outlet, so let me walk you through it! First, head down to basement level 1.

Once you're on B1, look for the food court first! Not the pop-up exhibit space — the food court! It's right in front of the food court entrance!

What kind of menu do they have?

True to its name, Angry Potato is built around potato dishes with chicken to go alongside them. If you're shopping at Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo and looking for something quick, Angry Potato is a solid option. It'll especially hit for anyone like me who loves fries. Since you can get chicken with it too, it works both as a light snack and as a proper meal.

We ordered the Deep Crunch chicken set that day. We debated eating it right at the store, but ended up packing it to go and eating it later at the hotel. Honestly, fries and chicken tend to go soggy over time when packed to go, so I figured the crispiness would mostly be gone by the time we got to the hotel. But turns out...

It was still really crispy even after a fair bit of time had passed! The fries especially kept their crunchy texture instead of going limp, which genuinely surprised me. I always thought fries were only good fresh out of the fryer, but these were still delicious eaten at the hotel after being packed to go — total shock haha!!

The Deep Crunch chicken set I ordered let me have chicken and fries together, which made for a nice, simple meal. The chicken was crispy outside and juicy inside, and paired with the fries it was a pretty great combo. But honestly, I think the real star of Angry Potato was the sauce.

Pour the sauce on generously from the start

One thing I found unusual here is that you can pour on as much sauce as you want to take with you. At first I only added a little, worried it might get too salty or soggy. But once I started eating... ugh, I should've just gone all in from the start!! haha The sauce was genuinely delicious. The fries were already crispy and tasty on their own, but with the sauce it felt like a completely different flavor. ( ˃᷄˶˶̫˶˂᷅ ) 💗 So next time I come back, I'm not going to hesitate — I'm pouring it on generously. If you're like me and hold back on sauce worrying about sogginess while packing to go, don't! haha

Another thing I liked was that you can pay a little extra to have sauce packed separately. This is a nice touch, actually. Usually when you're eating chicken or fries, you end up running short on sauce and feeling a bit disappointed — but here you can add whatever sauce you want to take along, so you can enjoy it exactly to your taste. ( * ´･з･` *)♪ The sauce was so good that next time I'm planning to just grab a generous amount from the start haha. If you're a fries lover, this part will probably satisfy you too.

Doesn't it get soggy when packed to go?

We packed our order at Angry Potato and moved to the hotel to eat that day, so we got a real sense of how it holds up as takeout. I expected the fries to turn damp over time, but they were far crispier than I expected. The chicken kept its crispy outer texture too, and the fries held their bite as well.

Personally, eating it comfortably at the hotel while watching TV was its own kind of happiness haha. And the fries were the kind of taste that kept pulling my hand back — I meant to have just one and stop, but I kept picking at them. You know those days when you just crave fries? This was exactly the taste for those days.

If you're craving good fries or chicken while in Songdo, I think this is worth a stop. I'd recommend Angry Potato to anyone hunting for good food in Songdo or looking for something to eat while shopping at Hyundai Premium Outlet. It was so much better than I expected that I'll probably swing by for fries again next time I'm in Songdo. If you love crispy fries, seriously, give it a try. Even packed to go like I did, the crispiness held up impressively long, which made it even more satisfying :)
