In short

The writer visited with her brother-in-law, whose scalp was in bad shape from the summer, and Chief Designer Won Bin gave him a scalp scaling and a design cut, with the scalp compared before and after on a magnifying camera. A kids' zone and the building's underground parking made Juno Hair Guwol-dong Rodeo Branch an easy visit with a child along.

Is there really a man out there this serious about his scalp? The only person who's ever made me think that... is my brother-in-law haha
It's summer, so with the hot, humid weather his scalp had gotten pretty bad, and his hair was also due for a cut, so this time I took him to a men's hair specialty salon in Guwol-dong .ᐟ
Since he's always been genuinely into scalp care, we decided not to just do a plain cut this time but to go all in with scalp scaling + a design cut ✂️🫧

Juno Hair is on the 3rd floor of Link126. Everyone knows parking in Guwol-dong is brutal, right? But here the building's underground lot is spacious, and if you get a service they register your car for parking, so it's so convenient..!
Interior and kids' zone
Inside the salon

The moment I walked in, I was surprised at how spacious and pleasant the shop was. Instead of the usual salon feel, the interior is clean with wood and lighting touches everywhere, giving it a café-like vibe-! The space itself is big so it never feels cramped, and there's plenty of room between seats so you can get your hair done comfortably. There's also a separate waiting area on one side where you can sit comfortably while waiting for your service-!

What stood out most was the kids' zone 🧸 There's a separate space for children, so people visiting with kids can use the salon without worry. Honestly, such a touching detail... I happened to bring my niece along, so having a kids' zone in a place I didn't expect made things so much easier.

And the shampoo room, unlike the usual bright lighting, had a calm, dimly lit atmosphere. Bright lighting while getting your hair washed can be oddly distracting, but with this dark, relaxing mood, he said it felt more like resting and healing during the shampoo 🫧
My brother-in-law's hair and scalp before the service
Before

My brother-in-law's hair lol, pretty sad.. probably partly his hair texture, but it was puffing up all over 😂

Scalp diagnosis before scaling-! His scalp condition overall wasn't great 🥲 Zooming in on areas you normally can't see with the naked eye, you could see sebum and dead skin cells built up.
How does the scalp scaling actually work?

First they shampooed his hair, then put that machine over his head! After letting the scalp soak sufficiently, they started the real scaling. The scaling product wasn't just swiped on the scalp either — they applied it carefully by hand between every section of scalp. They applied the product to let the dead skin soften, waited a bit, then rinsed it off thoroughly.
Watching from the side, it was more thorough than I expected, and it made me curious about my own scalp condition too lol. Especially in hot, sweaty summer weather like this, buildup and dead skin cells accumulate easily on the scalp, so I thought a proper scaling session like this would be great. And after the treatment, my brother-in-law said, "My scalp definitely feels refreshed," haha. Since he's normally so serious about scalp care, he was genuinely satisfied.

Design cut and styling tips
After finishing scalp care with the scaling, the cut wrapped things up ✂️

They also showed him how to dry his hair depending on the style.

Scalp scaling: before and after comparison
After finishing everything from scaling to the cut, we took one more scalp photo at the end! Comparing it to the first photo, the difference was clear 👀 〈Before → After〉

Left is before scaling, right is after care! Zooming in on the same scalp for comparison, before and after clearly looked different. Especially seeing the dead skin and buildup that had been clinging to the scalp cleared away was pretty fascinating 👀 My brother-in-law was very pleased when he saw the photos too.
The finished look- .ᐟ (After)

His hair turned out so clean and nice, right?! 👍🏻 Ugh, I should have brought him here ages ago..!
Next time he needs a scalp scaling, I'm definitely bringing him back to Chief Designer Wonbin at Juno Hair.. my sister, my brother-in-law, and I are all sold on it.. the best 🥵👍🏻👍🏻

A note on payment
Oh, one more thing — Juno Hair doesn't accept cash payment! Card payment, bank transfer, or Naver Pay are all fine ><~~
