Eel sushi lunch with mom: Pohang conveyor sushi, Hojueseo

Today I visited a Pohang conveyor sushi spot everyone raves about — Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap (호주에서온회전초밥)!

Where is Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap, and is there parking?

Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap is a conveyor sushi restaurant at 74 Namwon-ro, Ocheon-eup, Nam-gu, Pohang-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea, on the 1st floor. You can park right in front of the restaurant, but the back is even more spacious! No need to stress about parking here.

The weather that day was amazing — the sky was so clear it was basically the perfect weather for eating sushi 🌤️

Both the interior and exterior are clean and pretty, so it's great to bring your parents along too. I was visiting Pohang and trying to figure out what to have for lunch with my mom, so we landed on conveyor sushi since you can pick and choose lots of different kinds 🍣

Lunchtime seating at Hojueseo: bar seats and waiting time

Inside Hojueseo on Hoejeon Chobap, there were quite a lot of seats beyond what you see from the entrance. We came during lunch hour and there were already a lot of people eating, but since it's conveyor sushi, tables turn over fairly quickly, so even with a crowd, it didn't feel like the wait would be long haha.

Since there were two of us, they seated us at the inner bar. If you're a party of four or more, I think they'd seat you at a table instead.

The plates piled up after we finished eating haha. At the register, a staff member counts your plates and the cashier hears the count and rings you up 💸

Pickled ginger, red pickled ginger, and danmuji (pickled radish) rotate on the rail, so you can help yourself freely!

Besides sushi, there are also things like steamed egg, pudding, fruit, and brownies to eat before or after your meal! Seems like a good place to bring kids too 👶🏻

If the sushi you want isn't on the rail, you can just order it directly through the table-order tablet. Staff bring it right to you, which was really convenient.

Udon broth in a cup and what comes free on the rail

As soon as you sit down, udon broth comes out — and what was unusual was that it comes in a cup, not a bowl! You can sip it in between bites of sushi, which was way more convenient. You can also ask staff for a refill.

Personally, my favorite was the eel sushi 🐟 the soft, savory eel paired so well with the sweet sauce. I ended up ordering it twice haha. 🤍a must-eat pick🤍

There were also premium single-piece sushi options! It was nice that my mom and I could each pick our own favorites — I went for squid, and my mom went for uni haha.

How many plates two people ate, plus the fruit dessert

My mom and I aren't big eaters, so we finished up with 15 plates of sushi and 3 plates of fruit! As a fruit lover, I was so happy that a fruit dessert was available after the meal. Since you can eat a little of many kinds, we never got tired of it and enjoyed every bit. That's the end of today's food review 🤞🏻
