Today I want to introduce Rigo Susan, a sashimi restaurant in Jeonpo, Busan. I went looking for a good raw fish spot in Jeonpo-dong and came back with a review of Rigo Susan Jeonpo Station Main Branch!
These days the alleys of Jeonpo-dong are packed with bars and great restaurants. That day, after agonizing over what to eat, I saw on Instagram that a place was famous for live raw shrimp and aged sashimi platters, so I booked right away and went. It was one of those days I really wanted sashimi with a beer.

Rigo Susan Jeonpo Station Main Branch opening hours
Rigo Susan Jeonpo Station Main Branch is open Tuesday to Monday from 17:00 to 01:00 the next day, and until 02:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Last order is at 00:00 on Tue/Wed/Thu/Sun/Mon, and 01:00 on Fri/Sat. Since it opens every evening at 5pm, you can't go for lunch, but it's perfect for a dinner plan!

Inside Rigo Susan and what two diners ordered
I liked that Rigo Susan had plenty of tables right when we walked in, and there was also an inner room-like space where you could eat quietly. Table turnover was fast, so we sat down without waiting at all. We ordered the signature aged sashimi platter, priced at ₩49,000.

How many side dishes does Rigo Susan serve?
Rigo Susan's sukkidashi (small side dishes served with sashimi) came out to more than eight kinds. There was steamed egg that tasted like corn cheese gratin, crispy fried squid, tangy vinegared octopus, crunchy pickled cucumber, sweet-and-spicy sausage-vegetable stir-fry, and even smoked salmon salad — genuinely generous variety.
The platter comes out so full that you could easily skip a meal and make this your first stop of the night without any trouble.

You could fill up on just the side dishes alone, which made me think the value for money here was pretty good.

Is one 49,000-won sashimi platter enough for two?
Rigo Susan's aged sashimi platter comes with seasonal live fish like flatfish, spotnape ponyfish, red seabream, and salmon, all aged, and the portion was genuinely generous for two people. From the color of the fish alone you could tell it was fresh and firm. The salmon had visible grain and the white fish was chewy yet tender, so my chopsticks kept going back. Fresh wasabi and vinegar sauce came separately, so we could dip to our own taste.

Mini udong (thick noodle soup) came out later as well. The inside of the restaurant is mostly standing tables rather than floor seating, which made it easy to bring along older family members. The tables were also spaced widely apart, so we could chat comfortably without worrying about the next table. The inner space had clean wallpaper and soft lighting, so it wouldn't be a bad date spot either.
The plating of the sashimi was also decorated nicely with water dropwort and green vegetables, which made it good for photos too.
Looking at the menu, besides the sashimi platter, there were various single items like live raw shrimp, snow crab, and geoduck clam. It seemed like a place better suited to 2–4 people ordering a bunch of things rather than eating alone. This felt like the kind of place where eating fresh straight at the restaurant would be much better than takeout or delivery. And best of all, since the platter comes out so full, you can enjoy it generously for the price!
Booking tips for Rigo Susan in Jeonpo-dong
- I heard the live raw shrimp is also famous, so I plan to order that next time
- Go right at the evening opening time and you can get seated with plenty of room
- Even for two people, the sashimi platter portion is generous, so one platter is enough unless you're a big eater
- If you book ahead, you can be seated right away without waiting
The side dish spread and the freshness of the sashimi were both satisfying for the price, so I think I'll end up back here whenever I'm craving sashimi in Jeonpo-dong! Next time I plan to add the live raw shrimp too. For anyone trying to decide on a drinking spot in Jeonpo-dong, I'd gently recommend Rigo Susan.
