Busan izakaya with 4-glass draft beer deal and kabocha fritters: 12.24

In short

12.24 Seomyeon Branch is an izakaya on Jeonpodae-ro in Busanjin, Busan, where the cooking is done by a chef who trained at the Swissôtel Osaka. On this visit 12.24 Seomyeon Branch served hanwoo yukhoe with shiitake fritters, tuna futomaki (5 pcs), kabocha fritters and chicken thigh fritters, with Asahi draft beer discounted when ordered four glasses at a time. It is a good choice for a quiet night of snacks and draft beer rather than a noisy bar.

A great-vibe Jeonpo izakaya: 12.24 Seomyeon Branch

Recommending a good Jeonpo bar 🍻 This is 12.24 Seomyeon Branch, an izakaya with great atmosphere in the Jeonpo area. I'd been hunting for a nice bar around Jeonpo lately and finally made it to a proper izakaya again 😊 This is 12.24 Seomyeon Branch, where a chef formerly of the Swissôtel Osaka cooks everything himself, so I had high expectations going in ✨

There are so many izakayas around Jeonpo and Seomyeon that it can be hard to pick one, but 12.24 Seomyeon Branch has such a wide range — from sashimi to nabe (hot pot), kushikatsu (skewered fried skewers), and hanwoo yukhoe (Korean beef tartare) — that it felt great for ordering a bunch of different snacks.

I stared at the menu forever because there was too much I wanted to try 😂 In the end we ordered hanwoo yukhoe shiitake fritters, tuna futomaki (5pcs), kabocha fritters, and chicken thigh fritters.

A good Jeonpo bar even down to the starter snacks 🍠

The basic setup at 12.24 Seomyeon Branch is corn salad, cabbage salad, and sweet potato stick crackers. Waiting for the food to arrive, I was already won over by the starters.

The corn salad and sweet potato sticks were so good that my hand kept reaching for them even before the main dishes came out 🤣 We ended up refilling both. They're simple starters that go well with a drink, so the wait for the food wasn't boring at all.

Sweet, crunchy kabocha fritters and chicken thigh fritters 🎃

The first things out were the kabocha (sweet pumpkin) fritters and chicken thigh fritters. One bite into the kabocha fritter and the crunchy batter paired perfectly with the pumpkin's natural sweetness. Crispy outside, soft inside — it worked really well as a drinking snack. The subtle sweetness of the kabocha itself made this a menu I kept reaching for 😋

The chicken thigh fritters that came alongside were satisfying too. Using thigh meat gave it a plump, tender feel. The batter was crispy while the meat inside stayed juicy, so both texture and flavor delivered. Also a perfect match for beer 🍺

My favorite izakaya dish! Tuna futomaki 🍣

Next up was one of my favorite izakaya dishes — tuna futomaki (thick sushi roll), 5 pieces. Just looking at it you could tell it was packed full. Tuna, egg, cucumber, pickled radish, fried shrimp, wasabi, dried gourd, and shiso were all generously stuffed inside.

Taking a full bite let all the textures and flavors hit at once, and it was genuinely delicious 🤤 The crunch of the fried shrimp paired especially well with the soft tuna, and the wasabi in between cut through any richness. If you like futomaki, this one will satisfy 💕

The dish I'd been most looking forward to: hanwoo yukhoe shiitake fritters 🤎

And finally, the hanwoo yukhoe shiitake fritters — honestly the dish I was most excited to order that day. Cutting to the verdict: it exceeded expectations, as expected. Shiitake mushrooms stuffed with hanwoo yukhoe and deep-fried — the visual was unusual from the first look.

One bite in, the distinct savory aroma of shiitake hits first, then the hanwoo yukhoe inside blends in, giving it a charm totally different from a normal mushroom fritter. The crispy fried shiitake and the texture of the yukhoe went really well together.

Personally, of everything we ordered that day, the hanwoo yukhoe shiitake fritters left the strongest impression 😍 If you want to try something a little special at a Jeonpo izakaya, I'd recommend it!

Asahi draft beer is discounted when you order 4 glasses 🍻

12.24 Seomyeon Branch also has Asahi draft beer, so we enjoyed that too. Ordering Asahi draft in sets of 4 glasses gets you a discount, so we ordered several rounds to go with the food.

Pairing draft beer with a variety of dishes — kushikatsu, futomaki, fritters — really set the mood 🍺✨ This is a place better suited to ordering a bunch of different snacks to share rather than sticking to one dish,

and I think it would work well for a friend hangout, an after-work drink, or even a date. With so many options — sashimi, nabe, kushikatsu, yukhoe — I'd like to try a different dish each time I come back.

A quiet, great-vibe Jeonpo izakaya 🌙

Overall, 12.24 Seomyeon Branch was satisfying — good food and a wide menu selection. Jeonpo has no shortage of restaurants and bars, but this is a good spot for the days you'd rather skip the loud, crowded scene and enjoy a quiet drink with good snacks.

I especially liked being able to try various izakaya dishes made by a chef formerly of the Swissôtel Osaka, and the menu ranged from familiar snacks to more unusual ones, which made choosing part of the fun 😊
