Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch: a brand-new bar in Seomyeon
With new bars popping up around Seomyeon lately, I was looking for somewhere to try and ended up visiting the newly opened Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch.

If you're looking for a bar in Seomyeon with great food, this one's worth keeping an eye on. Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is located on the 2nd floor of Seomyeon Sseolpa Branch 2.

Even before stepping inside, the standing sign out front showed mouth-watering photos of the food, and I found myself drawn in just walking by. 😆 I'd expected this new Seomyeon hotspot to be good, but the atmosphere and generous portions exceeded my expectations — I left very satisfied.

How roomy is the 2nd-floor seating?
Once inside, the place was bigger than I expected, with the tables spaced generously apart. At bars, tables packed too close together can make you self-conscious about the neighboring table's conversation, but at Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch the spacing felt relaxed, so my friends and I could chat comfortably over drinks.

Above all, the staff and owner had such bright energy. 😂 Even as a first-time visitor, they made the mood so easy that I found myself getting into it too! Even though the place is newly opened, quite a few customers already looked like regulars during my visit.

I understood right away why people keep coming back. The service was friendly, they checked in and took care of little things along the way, and the overall mood was so upbeat that I'd happily recommend this Seomyeon bar.

Spicy soft tofu, beef belly and seafood hot pot for 29,900 won
What we ordered that day was the spicy soft tofu beef belly seafood hot pot! It looked so generous just from the visual alone that I knew it'd make a proper drinking snack. 🍲 There was plenty of soft, silky tofu (sundubu) and a generous amount of domestic beef belly, so it was fun eating the meat and tofu together.

On top of that, there was all kinds of seafood — blue crab, scallops, and more — so one sip of the broth and I could really taste that clean seafood flavor coming through. It was spicy yet refreshing, which made it perfect with soju.

I'm a bit of a lightweight when it comes to spice and can't handle food that's too hot, but this was just the right level of spicy for drinking, so my chopsticks kept going back for more without any pressure. 😋

The blue crab was packed with plump meat, so it was fun picking it apart, and choosing between the scallops, beef belly, and tofu made the meal even more enjoyable.

Above all, considering how generously loaded this hot pot was with seafood, meat, and tofu, the price of 29,900won felt like great value.

Garlic baguette starter and fried rice to finish
The garlic baguette that came as a basic side dish was surprisingly delicious too. Drizzled with condensed milk, it had a sweet, crispy texture that was perfect for nibbling on before the hot pot arrived, whetting the appetite. 🤭

After working through the hot pot for a while, we couldn't skip ordering the fried rice to finish. Having enjoyed the broth and ingredients and then finishing with fried rice, it felt like a full, satisfying meal! What started as a drinking snack turned into a properly filling meal, fried rice included.

Is Yuumangju worth a return visit in Seomyeon?
Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch has such a varied menu that I'd love to try other dishes next time. We only had the spicy soft tofu beef belly seafood hot pot this time, but both the taste and portion size were satisfying enough to call it one of Seomyeon's best spots for bar food.

For a newly opened place, the atmosphere was bright, the staff were kind, and the portions were generous, so it seemed like a great place for a drink with friends, and also good for a group visiting together to order a variety of dishes.

If you're looking for a place with delicious bar food, I'd recommend the newly opened Seomyeon hotspot, Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch. 🍻 I really liked the spicy soft tofu beef belly seafood hot pot we had that day, and now I'm curious about the other menu items too.

Next time I'm going to properly work through the rest of the menu. 😆 100000% coming back!

If you're looking for a new bar in Seomyeon where you can have a comfortable drink with generous, delicious food, I'd say Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is worth a visit. 💕
