Ansan sashimi restaurant with crab leg tempura: Eochongye 1beonji
In short
Eochongye 1beonji is a sashimi and Japanese-style seafood restaurant that recently opened on Bandal Island in Ansan's Danwon-gu, Gyeonggi. Two people ordered everything they wanted — a ₩10,000 hoe-deopbap (raw fish rice bowl), a small seasonal sashimi platter, crab leg tempura and a finishing spicy fish stew — and the bill still came to just over ₩80,000, with nothing left on the table. The crab leg tempura tasted good even after it cooled, so it counts as a must-order side at Eochongye 1beonji.

Hi, it's Ham~~~~~ I was craving sashimi and wondering where to go, when I heard Eochongye 1beonji was famous!?

So I went to the branch on Bandal Island that just recently opened~ As expected, it was as satisfying as I hoped ㅠㅠ Let's start this happy review!

Eochongye 1beonji on Bandal Island: the room and the prices
Being a newly opened branch, the Bandal Island Eochongye 1beonji is spacious and clean!

Even accounting for the fact it just opened, I personally loved that there was no fishy smell you usually get at sashimi restaurants haha. It really showed how well they're managing the hall and kitchen.
Looking at the price list for sashimi and sides, everything was reasonably priced~ So even after ordering every single dish we wanted, we didn't go over ₩100,000! (Even eating a ton, it was just over ₩80,000!!!)

Ordering was easy too, since we could order right from the table with a tablet haha. No need to call a staff member every time we wanted to add something, and being able to take our time choosing was a huge plus!

How do the side dishes come out?
On top of that, the side dishes came out clean and tasty, hitting all the right notes — honestly enough to drive you crazy (?). At first I didn't think much of them, but once I tasted them, my hand kept reaching back over lol. Even the soybeans, which are so common at sashimi restaurants, were delicious.... Couldn't get a photo of it, but they even had beondegi (silkworm pupae), a nostalgic snack! I know some people hate them, but I love them haha, and eating them again after a long time was really tasty.
Is the ₩10,000 hoe-deopbap enough for a meal?
The hoe-deopbap I ordered for ₩10,000! I expected it to come out small, more like a side dish, but the portion was hearty enough to be a full meal.

My hands are big so the photo is a bit awkward....^^; Anyway, it was the best hoe-deopbap I've had recently.

The raw fish was piled in generously too. It was bunched together in a way that made it look like there wasn't much sashimi, but when I dug through it to show you in photos, it just kept coming lol. Filling up on hoe-deopbap before starting a drink felt great. From now on, my routine at Bandal Island Eochongye 1beonji is going to be the hoe-deopbap!!!!

There was so much fish that no matter which spoonful you scooped, you'd definitely get some sashimi. The fundamentals were solid, so of course the taste was too >.<

What comes on the small seasonal sashimi platter
And now, today's main event!!!! The small seasonal sashimi platter!!!! It was great being able to try various kinds of fish in one order! Since it's a seasonal platter, the composition seems to change a little each time~ Anyway, the sashimi at Eochongye 1beonji is so fresh and clean overall that the rockfish and flounder were especially delicious haha. It hasn't even been that long since I went, and I already want to eat it again.ㅠㅠ
They say a familiar taste is the scariest kind. Looks so good..

Why crab leg tempura is a must-order side at Eochongye 1beonji
Actually, I've had crab leg tempura before, on a trip to Sokcho, and also at other izakayas. Every single time it disappointed me, so honestly I didn't even want to order it here ㅠㅠㅠ

But the crab leg tempura at Eochongye 1beonji!!!!!!! You'll seriously regret it if you don't try this!!!!!!

That soft, warm crab meat, moist and melting in your mouth — what a taste!

We were busy eating, drinking, and talking so the crab leg tempura went cold. I was shocked all over again that it was still delicious even cold. If you visit Eochongye 1beonji, this side is an absolute must-order. Stars, all the stars!

How fresh was the sashimi, and how I felt the next day
Can you see how plump and moist that sashimi is~~~~ Honestly, it's still hot during the day this time of year, and even in winter, if I eat somewhere with even slightly questionable hygiene, I'm guaranteed to have an upset stomach the next day...^^ But at Bandal Island's Eochongye 1beonji, no matter how long I waited (?), the next day and the day after that, there wasn't even a hint of stomach trouble haha lol.

Eating it this way, then that way — no time to get tired of it haha

Finishing the meal with spicy fish stew
And finally, closing things out — the spicy fish stew! Both the flavor and portion were satisfying~ The two of us came to hang out and ended up ordering more than expected, but every single dish was so delicious we finished it all without leaving anything behind haha. If you're looking for a clean, tasty, and reasonably priced sashimi restaurant on Bandal Island during a trip to Ansan, I recommend Eochongye 1beonji^^
