A restaurant near Bandalseom in Ansan where you can enjoy a truly proper lunch — that's Cheongnyuok.

Cheongnyuok, a Bandalseom favorite known for its refined meat dishes and generous table spread
It's great for office workers wanting a solid lunch, but the place is also spacious and clean enough to work for a post-work gathering or a weekend family meal.
Cheongnyuok's location, parking, and atmosphere
Cheongnyuok is on the 1st floor of 7 MTV17-ro, Danwon-gu, Ansan-si, Gyeonggi-do. A big banner reading 'Cheongnyuok' is clearly posted near the parking lot entrance, so even on my first visit I found the place easily without getting lost.

The building has proper parking spaces set up, so it's easy to visit by car.
Stepping inside, it really felt like a large restaurant — the tables were spaced generously and everything was kept very clean.

There are also nicely set-up private rooms, which I'd recommend to anyone looking for a spot for a Bandalseom get-together or work dinner.

A clothes styler at a BBQ restaurant? Here's why it matters
The moment I walked into Cheongnyuok, what caught my eye was the clothes styler. I always worry about smoke smell soaking into my clothes after a BBQ meal, but here I could put my coat in the styler during dinner and walk out with it fresh and clean — honestly quite touching.

On one side, there are also kids' chairs set up for families with young children, so this would be a great spot for a family meal or a tidy gathering with kids in tow.

On one side of the restaurant is an aging fridge storing fresh raw meat. Seeing the premium Bandalseom hanwoo (Korean beef), well-marbled Bandalseom beef, and nutty Bandalseom pork belly, you could really feel the pride they take in meat quality.

The self-serve side dish bar, where you can help yourself to more banchan (side dishes), was also kept very clean — satisfying to see.
The pork rib set for two and the side dishes
I ordered the pork rib set for two (₩25,000 per person) plus a bibim naengmyeon (₩8,000) for dessert. The set comes with the pork ribs along with a hearty doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and a bowl of rice.

Not long after ordering, the charcoal arrived and the side dishes were set one by one — the lineup was really substantial from the start.
From the spicy, tangy green onion kimchi I always love to the soy-marinated crab that's basically a rice thief, the side dishes came out generously enough that my chopsticks didn't stop even before the meat was cooked. Add in fresh salad and crunchy pickled green onions, and the combination with the meat was excellent.

Mild, refined pork ribs — not overpowering at all

Finally, I laid the marinated pork ribs on the charcoal grill and grilled them to a golden brown. As they cooked, the faint charcoal aroma seeped in and the smell alone was enough to stir up my appetite.
What I liked most was that the pork rib marinade wasn't too heavy or sweet.

Usually marinated ribs are so sweet you get tired of them fast, or the flavor is too intense — but Cheongnyuok's pork ribs stayed mild while keeping a savory depth, so I could enjoy them all the way through without getting sick of them.

The meat itself was also very tender, and pairing it with the spicy green onion kimchi made for an appealing combination.
The included rice was also touching — they packed the bowl completely full, so I thought this would be the best lunch spot for local office workers to fill up during their break.

Scooping up a spoonful of rice mixed into the rich, savory doenjang jjigae, then topping it with pork ribs and soy-marinated crab, was an absolutely fantastic combination.
Finishing up with bibim naengmyeon for ₩8,000
You can't skip naengmyeon (cold noodles) after a meat meal, right? I added Cheongnyuok's bibim naengmyeon (₩8,000) for dessert to finish things off cleanly.
The spicy-tangy sauce paired well with the chewy noodles and cut right through the greasy richness of the meat. Wrapping a saved piece of pork rib into the bibim naengmyeon made for a perfect finish.

Even though it's a dessert menu item, the portion wasn't small and the sauce flavor was clean, so I finished the meal in a great mood.

Better for lunch or for a group dinner?
Having visited Cheongnyuok myself, it's easy to find thanks to the big sign, and between the mild, refined pork ribs and the generous green onion kimchi and soy-marinated crab side dishes, it really lived up to being a Bandalseom favorite.

It's great for a hearty pork rib set at lunch, and in the evening it's just as good for grilling high-quality Bandalseom hanwoo, Bandalseom beef, or Bandalseom pork belly for a group gathering or work dinner.

If you're near Bandalseom and thinking about a good BBQ restaurant or a filling lunch, I'd definitely recommend giving Cheongnyuok a try.
