Where is Yum Bbokki? Tteokbokki 5 minutes from Ansan Culture Plaza
Yum Bbokki is a tteokbokki restaurant in Gojan-dong, about a 5-minute walk from Ansan Culture Plaza. Hi, this is Marjoram ( 'ᢦ' )V. My friend and I were trying to decide on dinner near Ansan Culture Plaza and found Yum Bbokki, famous for its tteokbokki!
At first I thought it was a franchise, but it turns out it's an independent shop you can only find right here. The logo, the menu board, the interior — all so clean and cute!!! I only realized this after searching it up again later, haha.
There's a big apartment complex across the street too, so a lot of students heading to and from academies and nearby residents seem to stop by. I visited in the evening and saw quite a few people picking up takeout. (๑'• ֊ •'๑)੭ If you're looking for a tteokbokki spot in Gojan-dong, Ansan, this is one I'd recommend right away!

My friend and I really ate a lot, but the portions were so generous we still had leftovers ㅠ.ㅠ hahaha. We packed up the rest of the tteokbokki and fried snacks to take home! ٩( ´◡` )( ´◡` )۶
Inside Yum Bbokki: atmosphere and seating
🏡 The exterior

The place isn't huge, but it's arranged well with 3–4 tables for four and about 2 tables for two. When a customer using an electric wheelchair came in, the owner quickly rearranged the tables and chairs — the space never felt cramped, and everyone could get around comfortably. (。・.・。)人(。・.・。)♡

🏡 The interior

The interior is mostly white with orange accents — I wondered if they matched it to the color of tteokbokki, which I thought was cute, haha - ̗̀ ෆ(。•⩊•ಣ

The orange chairs, menu board, and even the mirror color all matched — impressively detailed for an independent shop, almost like a franchise.

While waiting for our order, we scooped out some broth and pickled radish, and grabbed small plates and water cups — getting ready to welcome the tteokbokki! (˵ ›⩊‹ ˵)
Yum Bbokki's menu: four tteokbokki types and a sundae ratio you pick

Yum Bbokki has four types: basic, rosé, jjajang (black bean sauce), and cream. Basic and rosé let you choose your spice level — mild, medium, spicy, or extra spicy — while jjajang and cream don't have spice options!

What I thought was a really thoughtful touch was the sundae (blood sausage)! You can choose your own ratio — from sundae 10 : innards 0, to innards 8 : sundae 2, to innards 3 : sundae 7. For people like me and my friend who love the innards, this kind of careful option was amazing!!! (۶๑´ 〰`๑)۶❤٩(๑´〰 `๑٩)
We ordered Pujimiyam Set 2. Tteokbokki for 3 + fried snack set + self-serve tuna rice ball + fish cake soup! And it was only ₩20,500, hahaha ( つ'-')╮—̳͟͞͞♥ Wait, what ( ꒪⌓꒪)? But you know us haha — we added cheese topping, Coolpis, and extra-innards sundae on top ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Such happy piggies! (͒ ॢ ›⚇‹ ॢ)͒୭♡

Is Pujimiyam Set 2 too much food for two people?
Pujimiyam Set 2 comes with basic tteokbokki for 3, assorted fried snacks, tuna mayo rice ball, and fish cake soup.

We'd both eaten a skimpy lunch and were starving, so we figured 3 servings would be plenty for two of us. Nope, no way ㅋㅋㅋㅋ it really was exactly 3 servings' worth ᐠ( ᑒ )ᐟ
🍲 Basic tteokbokki for three with cheese topping

It came out in a big bowl brimming with broth, topped with 3 eggs and cheese — the visuals alone were great.... We chose the basic flavor, which was about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, so even I, who can't handle much spice, could eat it without worry!!

The broth was tangy yet sweet, and there was plenty of fish cake — exactly my kind of flavor! The instant noodles mixed in were a nice kick too, haha.

Yum Bbokki apparently uses fresh wheat rice cakes made without preservatives, and maybe that's why the rice cakes themselves were so chewy and delicious!!

Wheat rice cakes can sometimes feel greasy or heavy on the stomach, but these stayed chewy all the way through without that burden. ٩(๑•◡-๑)۶ⒽⓤⒼ❤
Sundae, fried snacks, fish cake soup and self-serve tuna rice balls

The fried snacks included in the set were delicious too, and the lineup was solid. Fried fish cake, gimmari (fried seaweed roll), and fried squid — the crispy fried bits soaked in the sweet-spicy broth kept us reaching for more. ♡◟(⑅'ㅅ'⑅)◞♡
And when we wanted to settle our stomachs a bit, we'd take a bite of the warm fish cake soup! Eating like this, I understood why the set is called 'Pujimiyam' (generous-yam). ʚ♡⃛ɞLᵒᵛᵉᵧₒᵤʚ♡⃛ɞ(ू•ᴗ•ू❁)

We prefer innards over sausage, so we ordered the innards 8 : sausage 2 ratio. One of my standards for a good tteokbokki place is whether the ingredients feel fresh and freshly steamed — and the seasoning here was genuinely delicious.... it really deserves credit.
No dry, tough texture from sitting steamed too long!! It stayed chewy yet soft and springy!!! And of course, dipping the sundae liver into the tteokbokki broth is basically a rule, right? ㅋㅋㅋ (๑´ސު`)
And personally, the self-serve tuna rice ball was really delicious! It came in a big bowl packed with rice and ingredients, and I mixed it up energetically with a spoon. ((っ˘ڡ˘ς)🥄 🍛 🥄(*゚∀゚* )

The sweet tuna, the savory mayo, and the generous sprinkle of seaweed flakes on top — wow, this was honestly the best rice ball I've had in a while!!! It goes well dipped lightly in the tteokbokki broth, or just eaten plain — either way, you keep reaching for more!!!!
💬 Final verdict on Yum Bbokki
Even though it's an independent shop, Yum Bbokki felt like real care went into everything from the interior to the menu lineup! In particular, being able to choose your tteokbokki flavor and sundae innards ratio, plus the generous set composition, made me think this is a comfortable Gojan-dong spot for students, families, and local residents alike.
Next time I'll bring one more friend and properly tackle the Pujimiyam Set as a group of three ♡ Whenever you're craving proper broth-style tteokbokki near Ansan Culture Plaza, I recommend Yum Bbokki, an Ansan tteokbokki favorite!
