Gongdeok dessert café: 7 pastries tasted at home, Fluffy Bake Shop
In short
Fluffy Bake Shop is a baked-pastry dessert café on Baekbeom-ro 31-gil near Gongdeok Station in Mapo, Seoul. On a fifth visit, the writer, whose office is nearby, boxed up 7 pieces — 1 plain canelé, 4 madeleines (chocolate, yuzu, green tea, raspberry) and 2 financiers (chocolate, nut) — then cut them open at home, and the canelé was crisp outside and very moist inside. The family finished the rest at dinner and everyone called it good, so Fluffy Bake Shop works for gifts too.

Time for another one of my repeat-visit reviews! This is a dessert spot in Gongdeok that I've been to at least 5 times now (my office is right nearby), and people from surrounding companies buy from here all the time too — a genuinely good place. It's an absolute must if you're exploring Gongdeok Station food spots.
(And I actually already wrote about it on my blog the year before last, haha.) So here's another fresh post!
What kind of place is Fluffy Bake Shop near Gongdeok Station?

The exterior has just one clean madeleine logo on it! This is Fluffy Bake Shop, haha. A perfect Gongdeok date spot for food lovers — you could even add it to your Gongdeok bakery pilgrimage. Trust me on this one...
Inside Fluffy Bake Shop: interior and seating

This is what the inside looks like!! It's already well known as a top Gongdeok Station dessert spot, so customers kept streaming in, haha. If you go around lunchtime, a lot of the menu is already sold out!

The space is on the smaller side, but they've used it really cleverly. There's seating if you want to eat in the store too — about five seats.
The cute mini posters on the walls

Cute little posters stuck up around the place — you just have to snap these for Instagram vibes. Okay, now let's pick up some baked goods (heart pounding).
What baked pastries does Fluffy Bake Shop sell?

Standing in front of this display case genuinely makes me giddy, haha. There are so many kinds — let me list them out!

The baked goods have a solid core lineup: canelé, financier, madeleine — those three basics.

Even within that core lineup, there are so many variations! Hallabong tangerine, raspberry, gamtae (seaweed) — they use special ingredients really deliciously. I tried the gamtae financier once and it was salty-sweet and delicious!!

They also have egg tarts, salt bread, and castella-style cake! There's even a Dubai chocolate egg tart (unbelievable). I feel like they used to have fresh cream cakes too, but not on this visit, unfortunately.

I've pretty much tried everything at this place at this point. Everything's delicious, so just pick whatever suits your taste. Overall things run a bit on the sweet side! (I personally love sweets.) You know sweet desserts taste amazing with coffee, right?!!!
The 7 pastries picked up at Fluffy Bake Shop that day

I worried I might be buying too much while packing everything in, but there was absolutely nothing to worry about — these disappeared fast once I got home, haha. I ended up with one canelé, four madeleines, and two financiers, neatly packed!
- Plain canelé
- Chocolate madeleine
- Yuzu madeleine
- Green tea madeleine
- Raspberry madeleine
- Chocolate financier
- Nut financier
Fluffy Bake Shop drink menu

By the way, the coffee here is good too, you know? Attaching the drink menu here, haha. Whenever I grab lunch around here, I always end up getting my coffee from this place!
Obligatory Instagram-worthy haul shot taken too, haha.
Tasting at home: the plain canelé first

Heart pounding, the most exciting part — taste-testing time. First up, the plain canelé! It was made in a rich, traditional style.

Cut it in half with a knife, haha. The cross-section alone passed with flying colors. A canelé is only good if it's crisp outside and moist inside, and I actually let out a yell after the first bite (lol).

Wow, this place really is good at every single dessert. This was my first time buying a canelé here and it's seriously delicious.
Yuzu madeleine and raspberry madeleine

The yuzu madeleine is also seriously good — this place really nails that crisp-outside, moist-inside texture, even in madeleine form... It's not for nothing that I have two posts about it on my blog. Ugh, writing this post is making me want to eat it again. Guess I'm going back after work, haha.

This was also my first time trying the raspberry madeleine, and it was moist and dense in the best way... The raspberry flavor really came through nicely too. Sweet enough that my dad would love it, haha.
The family finished the rest at dinner

Haha, I left the rest for my family, and when they ate them around dinnertime, everyone raved about how good they were. Guess I'll be buying more for home again... If you're looking for a real go-to bakery in Gongdeok or a good date-spot bakery, I really strongly recommend Fluffy Bake Shop, the dessert café near Gongdeok Station!!
A dessert shop near Gongdeok Station worth gifting

Plus, this place's packaging is genuinely pretty, so it's also great for gifting desserts...! Highly recommend it as a gift option too. And by the way, I'll definitely be going back to eat more, haha.
