Gongdeok lash salon: mascara extensions and lash lift, Lash Avenue

Today I'm sharing my story of getting lash extensions for the very first time at Lash Avenue Gongdeok! I've had lash lifts before, but this was my first time with extensions, so I was a bit worried it might come out too dramatic haha. In the end, it turned out exactly like the natural, idol-style lash look I wanted, and I was so happy with it :)

Inside Lash Avenue Gongdeok: atmosphere, waxing zone and shower room

As soon as I walked into Lash Avenue Gongdeok, I felt a cozy, warm atmosphere overall haha. The interior was also neatly organized, which got me excited even before the treatment started.

The waxing zone in particular was managed very cleanly, and the shower room was also tidy and hygienic. Cleanliness matters even more when it comes to waxing, and seeing the facilities made me think this would be a good place for that too — everything was well maintained!

What the consultation covered before the lash treatment

Lash Avenue Gongdeok gave a thorough consultation before starting anything. They asked me in detail about what length I wanted and what curl shape I preferred, and also suggested a length that would suit my eyes well :) When I mentioned it was my first time getting lash extensions, they explained the differences between the various types in more detail, which I really appreciated.

Point lift extensions vs mascara extensions: what is the difference?

I was curious about this difference myself before visiting! According to their explanation, point perm extensions involve doing a lift together with the extensions, while mascara extensions are done without a separate lift.

Since I'd gotten a lash lift a month earlier and it was still holding up fairly well, they told me that given the current state of my lashes, mascara extensions alone would look plenty pretty without redoing the lift. They even explained the reasoning — doing a lift and extensions together can reduce how long the extensions last, so in my current state they recommended mascara extensions instead. I really liked that they recommended treatments based on my actual lash condition rather than just adding on extra services haha.

Mascara extensions plus a lower lash lift in 1 hour 30 minutes

So in the end, I went with mascara extensions plus a lower lash lift at Lash Avenue Gongdeok! Since I did both together, the whole treatment took about 1 hour 30 minutes.

One thing I personally loved about Lash Avenue Gongdeok was the treatment bed haha. Lash treatments require lying down for quite a while, so an uncomfortable bed can leave your back or legs bothered without you noticing. Here, there was a pillow-like support that slightly raised my legs! That made my lower body comfortable too, and my whole body felt cozily cradled by the bed, so lying there actually made me sleepy lol. They also didn't keep chatting with me during the treatment, so I got to really rest comfortably. I feel like I only closed my eyes for a moment, and when I opened them, the treatment was already done!!

How natural did the first mascara lash extensions look?

Honestly, since it was my first time with lash extensions, I was a little nervous before seeing the result haha. But the moment I looked in the mirror, it really matched what I had pictured, and I loved it! What I wanted wasn't a super full, dramatic lash look, but rather something clear and defined, lash by lash. My eyes looked defined like I'd applied mascara neatly, but it didn't look overly extended — genuinely natural :)

Getting the lower lashes lifted too made the top and bottom look coordinated, giving my eyes an even more defined look. I was worried it might look too flashy since it was my first time, but instead I found myself wondering why I hadn't tried it sooner lol.
