Laptop-friendly Mapo café with handmade cinnamon buns: Ieo Coffee

The egg financier alone is worth five stars, and Ieo Coffee Roasters works just as well for a laptop session as for a walk-and-coffee date along the park.

Today I want to introduce a café I really fell for, found near the Gyeongui Line Forest Park. It's Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch! At first I just walked in because the vibe looked nice, but it turned out to be a place that makes its own beans, syrups, and desserts — and handles coffee quite professionally too...
I thought it was just a nice-vibe neighborhood café, but when it turns out to be serious about both coffee and dessert, how can you not love it lol

It's near the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, so it's great to drop by while taking a walk. It's also a convenient spot from Daeheung Station, so keep it in mind if you're looking for cafés near Daeheung Station too.
A Mapo café that roasts its own beans and makes its own syrups and desserts
Walking inside, the overall atmosphere is really comfortable :) I personally love this neighborhood café feel. Ieo Coffee Roasters wasn't just a pretty space — it had a clear philosophy behind how it runs.
Ieo Coffee believes that small efforts, added up one by one, raise the overall quality. So everything from the beans to the syrups to the desserts is handmade! Honestly, a lot of cafés sell ready-made or outsourced cakes and breads. That's not necessarily bad, but when a place makes everything by hand like this, you can't help but get a little more excited haha.
And when I visited, they happened to be baking bread in the oven right then. Thanks to that, the whole café smelled like fresh baked bread... I couldn't resist lol. I hadn't even ordered yet and I already decided I had to have the bakery items. Free healing just from the smell haha.
Choosing your own beans for hand drip and cold brew at Ieo Coffee
True to the name Ieo Coffee Roasters, they handle coffee quite professionally too. For brewed coffee, there's a wide range of beans to choose from so you can pick one to your taste, and if you like a certain bean you can even buy it to take home. If you enjoy picking your own beans, this part will be fun for you!
For cold brew too, you can choose between two kinds of beans — Winsome Blending or Bami Breeze. Even the cold brew lets you choose beans... this place is definitely serious about coffee lol.
It's a Gongdeok café with a comfortable neighborhood vibe you can drop into easily, yet the coffee is handled this professionally — that made me like it even more. From that moment I already knew I had to come back just for the coffee haha.

First, the mango orange juice :) With mango and orange combined, just the name sounds refreshing and sweet. I ordered it to have something light instead of coffee, and it was tastier than expected — very satisfied!
I also ordered the lemonade. As I mentioned, Ieo Coffee even makes the syrups used in their drinks by hand. Maybe that's why — could be my imagination — but the flavor definitely felt a bit deeper lol.
Lined up together for a photo, it looked so pretty… and I can't skip mentioning the desserts I ordered alongside it!!
Egg financier, 4,100 won
First, this egg financier!! It looks like an egg tart, so I wondered why it's even called a financier...
In looks and filling it feels like an egg tart, but with a financier standing in for the tart shell! Overall verdict: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Delicious, highly recommend — definitely order this one.
Cinnamon bun, 4,800 won
Next, a cinnamon bun the size of an adult woman's fist!!! This one tastes like the classic cinnamon bun you'd expect, but just sweet enough — perfect to eat with coffee.
Looking at the photo again makes me want to go back…
Working until sunset: what evenings feel like at Ieo Coffee Roasters
Oh, and I had some work to do so I ended up staying at the café from sunset until it got dark!
Once evening fell, it had a completely different kind of beauty 🥰 So that's my review of Ieo Coffee Roasters Gongdeok Branch, a place I'd had my eye on for a while! I recommend it not just for people like me who need to get work done, but also as a great date course along the Gyeongui Line Forest Park with a partner. The desserts and drinks are both delicious, so definitely stop by!
