Itaewon family restaurant with rib soup for kids: Nuri Maeul Gamjatang

In short

Nuri Maeul Gamjatang Itaewon Branch is a 24-hour pork bone stew restaurant on the second floor right in front of Itaewon Station Exit 4 in Yongsan, Seoul. The order was a small pot of Nuri gamjatang (pork bone and potato stew) for two, a special galbitang (beef rib soup) for the kids and two bowls of rice, and the small pot arrived packed with radish greens while the rib soup came in an earthenware bowl with rice included. Three bones per person came out tender with no gamey smell and the kids cleaned out the rib soup, so Nuri Maeul Gamjatang works for both a family meal and a late-night hangover cure.

A 24-hour gamjatang restaurant right outside Itaewon Station Exit 4

Nuri Maeul Gamjatang Itaewon Branch is an Itaewon gamjatang spot you see the moment you step out of Itaewon Station Exit 4. This time I went for gamjatang (pork bone and potato stew) and galbitang (rib soup)~!! The address is 176 Itaewon-ro, 2nd floor, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Nuri Maeul Gamjatang Itaewon Branch is open 24 hours, every day of the year, so even if you're out partying at Itaewon bars and clubs and need to sober up at dawn, you can walk straight in for a meal haha

There's no dedicated parking lot, so I parked at the Hannam-dong Community Center public parking lot! Head up to the 2nd floor and you'll find Nuri Maeul Gamjatang Itaewon Branch!

There's a menu board at the entrance going up, so you can check prices and menu items before going in! From solo-dining options to gamjatang for groups, plus grilled bones and steamed bones in different flavors — there was a great variety!!

Inside Nuri Maeul Gamjatang and what's on the self-bar

Nuri Maeul Gamjatang Itaewon Branch just opened recently, so the space was huge and really clean!! There are more seats further inside and a long sofa section too, so it can fit large groups haha There's even a TV, so you can eat while watching it.

There's also a self-bar set up, so you can help yourself to extra side dishes, and water is self-serve from the fridge.

There are various utensils along with napa cabbage kimchi, diced radish kimchi, and pickled onions.

Nuri Maeul Gamjatang Itaewon Branch, an Itaewon gamjatang restaurant, has a one-menu-per-person rule, and we ordered Nuri Gamjatang for two plus galbitang and two bowls of rice! The galbitang comes with rice included, while the gamjatang rice is separate haha On weekends or when the restaurant is full, there's a 2-hour time limit!

Small-size Nuri gamjatang: the pot itself was a surprise

They set us up first with the basic side dishes, diced radish kimchi and napa cabbage kimchi. Then the gamjatang arrived!! Wow, it was the small size but the portion was enormous, coming out in a huge pot — I was so surprised haha Itaewon restaurants always feel generous with portions, and Nuri Maeul Gamjatang's size was seriously huge too haha

The Nuri Gamjatang was also loaded with radish greens, which went great with the meat, and there were three pork bones per person — really big bones, tender and free of any gamey smell, and delicious!!

Gamjatang broth simmering

There were whole baby potatoes in there too haha The broth was pleasantly salty, and it paired perfectly with the tender spine bones.

We let it simmer a bit longer before eating, and the meat came right off the bone so easily!! There was a lot of meat on the bones, tender and free of any gamey smell, and delicious.

The special galbitang the kids ate, rice included

We also ordered galbitang for the kids to eat!!

Special galbitang served in a stone bowl
Special galbitang set served with rice included

The special galbitang comes with rice included, and the stone bowl was big too, so the portion was generous. It had plenty of ribs plus tasty glass noodles, and the broth had a clean flavor, so the kids ate it up happily haha

It was generous, plentiful, and delicious, so I'd recommend the galbitang too haha

Even a deodorizer spray after the meal

After eating, you can spray on some deodorizer before you leave, so you can get rid of any gamjatang smell too haha

It's a restaurant that runs 24 hours, so you can drop by any time for a filling meal — a solid Itaewon Station restaurant haha If you're looking for a good Itaewon gamjatang spot to cure a hangover, give Nuri Maeul Gamjatang Itaewon Branch a try~~
