Selected Nicks is a large café near Gangnam Station, located at 37 Teheran-ro 4-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, about a 5-minute walk from the station. It's open weekdays 08:00–24:00 and weekends 11:00–23:00. For parking, enter through the back gate and ask a staff member on the 1st floor (search 'Taewon Haksa' and drive all the way to the end of the alley!).

I happened to try Selected Nicks' banana tiramisu once and it was so good I saved the place on my map! On a nice day, I finally came back for that unforgettable banana tiramisu 😍🫰🏻

From the entrance upward: how the floors work at this large Gangnam café

Expectations were high from the entrance itself 👀

The now-classic Dubai tiramisu... makes me want to try the Dubai chewy tiramisu too 🤤

Since it's a large café from the basement all the way to the rooftop, there's a detailed floor guide right at the entrance. There were terrace seats scattered around too, which looked great for enjoying the nice weather these days 👍

Floor guides and Wi-Fi info were posted all over, so I didn't have to wander around asking haha. Looking around roughly, it seemed to be organized like this:

• Basement 1 – exhibition and café space
• 1st floor – ordering
• 2nd floor – café space
• 3rd floor – café space
• 8th floor – rental space and café space
• Rooftop

That's how it seemed to be run.

At Selected Nicks, you order on the 1st floor and then head upstairs! On weekends, even a big café like this can run out of seats since Gangnam is so crowded, so I'd recommend grabbing a seat first before ordering.

There were so many tempting menu items I had a hard time deciding what to pick, but since they sell set menus, I didn't have to worry about choosing how many desserts to get.

• 1-person set: 1 drink + 1 tiramisu + 1 dessert, ₩16,800
• 2-person set: 2 drinks + 1 tiramisu + 1 dessert, ₩21,800
• 3-person set: 3 drinks + 2 tiramisu + 2 desserts, ₩37,800

So for roughly ₩10,000 or so, you can enjoy dessert, tiramisu, and a drink all together — I'd definitely recommend going with the set menu 👍

Besides the classic financier, there were so many delicious flavors — matcha choco financier, choco salty financier, fig financier and more — and after much deliberation, I went with the matcha choco financier! 🍵

For tiramisu, you pick up an empty box and bring it to the counter, and they'll plate it for you. They all looked so good I was torn, but I went with the banana tiramisu that made my eyes light up the first time I tried it!!!!

Which floor at Selected Nicks is best for laptop work?

The 8th floor is run as a rental space and café. Compared to the other floors, it has a wood-and-books interior that felt warm.

The basement floor had slightly dim lighting, giving it a moodier atmosphere.

The 2nd-3rd floors looked like this! There were lots of people working on laptops and lots of people chatting too, so it's a good space for those who want to talk without worrying about noise while working. I saw a lot of people looking really deep in discussion(?) over their laptops haha.

Banana tiramisu, matcha choco financier and tropical ade: the taste test

The Selected Nicks banana tiramisu I'd been wanting so badly... it's softer than banana pudding! Goes down so easily — you could easily eat two.

The matcha choco financier was pleasantly sweet too. Neither the matcha nor the chocolate flavor was too strong, so the balance was good.

The coffee was solid too, nothing to complain about, and the tropical ade I ordered has syrup layered at the bottom, so mixing it well makes it even tastier. Recommended for anyone wanting good tiramisu at a big café near Gangnam Station. Next time I'm craving tiramisu, I want to get a whole cake ㅠ.ㅠ
