A proper hearty meal, from the seaweed soup to the side dishes! A restaurant in Ilsan's Anigol area I'd give a 100% repeat-visit vote to.
Why we chose Haenon Miyeok for a filling Korean meal in Anigol
Haenon Miyeok Ilsan Direct Branch (해논미역 일산직영점) is a seaweed soup restaurant at B1, 30 Anigol-gil, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea, open daily 11:00–21:00 (break time Mon–Fri 15:00–17:00). There's parking, and baby chairs too. Some days you just want to eat really well, and this was one of those days — we went looking for hearty Korean food around Ilsan's Anigol area and ended up at Haenon Miyeok Ilsan Direct Branch.

Anigol has so many restaurants that it's hard to decide, but that day we wanted warm soup and rice rather than anything spicy or heavy. To cut to the chase: 100% repeat-visit intention. My husband ate a whopping three bowls of rice, so you can tell how satisfying it was for both of us.
Parking and interior at Haenon Miyeok Ilsan
The first thing that won me over at Haenon Miyeok Ilsan Direct Branch was the parking. We drove there, and parking was easy, which put me in a good mood before we'd even sat down.

Inside, the place was much cleaner and more orderly than I expected. The tables and dining area were well kept and the whole space felt pleasant and comfortable — I liked it a lot.

The staff were really kind, too. That day especially, one staff member's thoughtful attention made the meal even more enjoyable.

Free extra abalone for pregnant guests
Haenon Miyeok Ilsan Direct Branch runs an event where they add an extra abalone to the seaweed soup for birthdays and pregnant guests. The moment I walked in, a staff member glanced at my belly and asked, 'Are you pregnant, by any chance?' before I'd even said anything — and then added an extra abalone to my bowl.

We'd already come planning to eat heartily, and having an extra abalone thrown in made me unreasonably happy. Small gestures like this may seem minor, but they stick with you once you've experienced them yourself. If you're planning a visit, it might be worth checking whether the event is still running.
The two seaweed soups we ordered and what they cost

That day we ordered two things: beef seaweed soup for ₩20,000 and boneless flounder abalone seaweed soup for ₩26,000.
Beef seaweed soup, 20,000 won: rich and savory
The beef seaweed soup (₩20,000) was my husband's order. One spoonful of the broth and you could taste the deep, savory flavor drawn from the beef, with the faint, distinctive scent of seaweed woven through it.

It's not overly salty or sharp — more of a clean, deep flavor that's perfect for pouring over rice. The taste got even better with a spoonful of rice mixed in rather than the broth alone. And the beef wasn't just a garnish — there was enough of it to eat properly with rice, making it a genuinely filling meal.

There was a reason he ended up eating three bowls of rice — haha. It's the kind of soup that just keeps pulling you toward more rice, to the point where I eventually had to tell him, 'That's enough.'

Boneless flounder and abalone seaweed soup, 26,000 won
What I ordered was the boneless flounder abalone seaweed soup for ₩26,000. Just from the name, with both abalone and flounder in it, you can tell it's a very different experience from the beef version. Where the beef soup centers on a heavy, savory richness from the meat, this one had a clean, refreshing appeal coming from the flounder and abalone.

What I especially liked was that the flounder came boneless, not bone-in, which made it really easy to eat. No need to pick out fish bones while eating your seaweed soup — you just scoop up the flesh with the seaweed. The flounder's mild, clean flavor soaked naturally into the broth, and the abalone added a deeper savoriness that made the soup feel richer overall.

On top of that, the event gave me an extra abalone, so I got to enjoy a generous amount of it. Personally, it didn't feel heavy on the stomach at all while still feeling like a proper nourishing meal — very satisfying for me as a pregnant guest.
Side dishes and the self-serve bar
Haenon Miyeok Ilsan Direct Branch also sets a pretty solid spread of basic side dishes, and there's a separate self-serve bar for anyone who wants more. It's not just one or two side dishes tossed on the table — there's a proper variety put together neatly to go with the rice and seaweed soup.
I've been to places where a self-serve bar exists on paper but isn't actually kept up well, so I wasn't expecting much. But here, even the self-serve bar was kept impressively clean and well-managed, which I appreciated. You can help yourself to as much of whatever side dish you like without feeling awkward about it — great for anyone with a big appetite.
Unlimited rice refills: three bowls in one meal
And here's one thing I really loved: Haenon Miyeok Ilsan Direct Branch offers unlimited rice refills. Great news if you're someone who eats a lot of rice.

For kids age 7 and under, you don't need to order a separate menu per person — just add ₩2,000 and the rice refills are unlimited.
Is Haenon Miyeok worth visiting in Ilsan's Anigol?
Overall, the food, the atmosphere, and the staff's kindness were all excellent! What stuck with me most, though, was that a staff member noticed I was pregnant and added an extra abalone just for that.

It's not just tasty food that makes you want to come back — it's when that thoughtful kind of service is added on top that you really start looking forward to your next visit.

If you're looking for a good, hearty Korean restaurant in Ilsan's Anigol area, I'd recommend Haenon Miyeok Ilsan Direct Branch. Go for the boneless flounder abalone seaweed soup on days you're craving seafood over meat, and the beef seaweed soup on days you want a rich, savory broth!

My husband and I are 100% going back. Next time we want to try their other seaweed soup dishes too. If you're craving a hearty Korean meal, come along like I did — go for Haenon Miyeok!
