Back to Millepollie with mom on Ilsan's Bamlidan-gil

I went to Millepollie, a great date-worthy restaurant on Ilsan's Bamlidan-gil. My mom took me here a long time ago (I think we had brunch that time, hmm) and I suddenly remembered it, so I went again — this time as a little date with mom.

Getting there

Ilsan's Bamlidan-gil is a quiet, laid-back neighborhood but with plenty of good restaurants, and Millepollie is one of them. It's easy to find — just walk straight toward the cancer center and you'll see the back entrance on your right. So green, so green.

What the exterior and interior are like

Exterior: the leafy green exterior feels peaceful in this cute little neighborhood.

This is what it looks like from the front door. So green, so pretty.

Interior: overall it's clean, quiet, and relaxed. We visited during a weekday lunch, and a few tables were already enjoying their meals. It's clean, easygoing, comfortable, and has a slightly refined air overall. We were seated at a spacious table and could eat comfortably.

Menu and prices: lunch set for two at ₩59,000

Menu: reasonably priced and varied. This was the basic table setting we found.

While deciding what to order, we happened to see a lunch set, so we went with the lunch set (2 people). Salad, pasta, pizza, and two drinks for ₩59,000 — pretty reasonable. There were plenty of other mains too, and salads, pizzas, and pastas were generally priced in the ₩20,000s.

What we ordered

After ordering, some bread came out first — light and tasty.

Then the salad arrived. The snowflake-like plating is pretty, and the vegetables are fresh and healthy-feeling — and delicious. A slightly tangy flavor perks up the appetite.

Pomodoro pasta

Next came the pomodoro pasta. It looked pretty, had good texture, and the sauce felt wholesome — mild rather than sharp. There was some sauce left over and I thought about asking for extra bread to mop it all up, but mom and I held back.

A generous portion for two. It was so good we cleaned the plate, and ended up completely full.

The pickles came out fresh too.

Cinque formaggi pizza

Last was the cinque formaggi pizza (five-cheese pizza), and this pizza was genuinely delicious. I'd actually been torn between this and the rucolina pizza, decided on the rucolina, and then somehow (oops) ordered this one anyway — and it turned out great. The flavor was deep with strong cheese notes, and that was exactly what made it so good. Dipping it in honey made it sweet and delicious too. This was the best thing we ate all day.

Who should visit

The interior has a warm, cozy feel. There's a wine display in one corner, so if you like wine, coming here in the evening might be nice. It was a satisfying meal after a while. I wasn't the only one who felt that way — mom said she'd come back with a friend next time, haha. I'd love to try other dishes next time.
