Hannam-dong sandwich takeout, classic baguette with milk: Dance Dance

In short

Dance Dance Dance Hannam is a baguette and ciabatta sandwich takeout shop on the ground floor of a main-road building at the foot of the Hannam Intersection hill in Yongsan, Seoul. In her ninth month of pregnancy, the writer met friends in Hannam-dong, ordered the classic sandwich at the kiosk and ate it with milk, and found the crisp baguette with handmade ham on another level from anything homemade. Dance Dance Dance Hannam is popular enough that some items sell out even on a weekday afternoon, so an early visit is best.

Today's review comes from a last-ditch effort — I'm in my ninth month of pregnancy and dragged as many friends together as I could for a Hannam-dong outing before the baby arrives, haha.

Every time I go to Hannam-dong I'm reminded how many great restaurants and desserts are packed into this neighborhood. Do you visit Hannam-dong often~? Since I live in Gyeonggi-do, I don't get to Seoul that much, so whenever I do make it out, I try to hit as many good spots as possible lol. This visit felt especially precious since it's probably my last trip to Hannam-dong before giving birth,,😂

If you're a regular, you probably already know Hannam-dong has no shortage of great sandwich spots. I've been to quite a few myself, and Dance Dance Dance, a sandwich restaurant in Hannam, really nails the baguette sandwich!! I'd highly recommend it to anyone hunting for a good sandwich spot in Yongsan.

Where is Dance Dance Dance Hannam, and what are its hours?

Dance Dance Dance

  • How to get there: It sits at the start of the hill near Hannam Intersection, right on the main road on the first floor, just a 1-minute walk from the Hannam-dong bus stop — easy to find even for first-timers like me.

Dance Dance Dance, this Hannam-dong sandwich spot, is easy to find right on the main road, but there's really nowhere to pull over if you drive, so I'd recommend taking public transit!!

A takeout-only shop: seating and kiosk ordering at Dance Dance Dance Hannam

Since Dance Dance Dance Hannam is a takeout-focused shop, there isn't much seating inside, but there are a few simple seats on the terrace out front, great for enjoying the cool weather right now — I'd recommend it to couples on a date. It's a good spot to buy and eat right away, haha.

You order at the kiosk, and even though I visited on a weekday afternoon, it was popular enough that some menu items were already sold out. Next time I'll aim to visit even earlier on a weekend!!

Baguette or ciabatta, and why you should eat it within 30 minutes

Dance Dance Dance Hannam makes its sandwiches with two types of bread — crisp baguette and soft, chewy ciabatta. I'm currently obsessed with crunchy, crackly bread textures, and once you try Dance Dance Dance, this Hannam sandwich spot, you won't be able to quit it. But to really catch that crispness, every sandwich is best eaten within 30 minutes for maximum freshness and crunch.

Why a ninth-month mom-to-be chose the classic sandwich

I ordered the classic sandwich instead of the tofu cream cheese one. The tofu cream cheese, made with domestic tofu and cream cheese using unrefined raw sugar, sounded healthy and delicious and I was curious, but I worried it might not suit my picky pregnant palate, so I went classic instead, haha. The basics are always a safe bet everywhere!!

This Yongsan sandwich spot uses handmade ham from a premium charcuterie brand with no chemical additives and an overwhelmingly high meat content, so it's on a completely different level from anything you'd make at home.

How the classic sandwich tastes with milk (and with coffee)

The moment I bit in, I could taste the crispness and the harmony of meat and bread — it seemed like it would go perfectly with coffee. I unfortunately had it with milk instead, but the pairing worked well too, so I'd recommend this Yongsan sandwich spot to anyone who loves a good sandwich.
