When the weather warms up, don't you just want to go to a Korean BBQ place with that open-air, camping vibe? I've got just the spot. It's my go-to repeat place, and I leave satisfied every single time. It's called
The Barbecue 051

This place is totally camping vibes. The owner must be really committed to the concept.
It's near the Dongbusan Outlet, so it seems pretty accessible too. Personally, finding good restaurants around the Dongbusan Outlet feels like reaching for the stars~^^

A mountain-lodge exterior and camping-style interior
🏠 Exterior

The exterior really gives off that vibe of a mountain lodge tucked deep in the woods somewhere.
🏠 Interior
Look at this, look at this. From the floor to the walls, it's exactly that camping ground, mountain lodge dining atmosphere.

There are outdoor seats too, you know? Once the weather gets cooler, sitting out there to eat is absolutely amazing. Pets are welcome at the outdoor tables too.

(When I visited before, I sat outside. Once it cools down, you have to sit outside.) Grilling meat outdoors just hits different, doesn't it.
🍴 Menu and our order that day

Usually ordering a set menu is the unwritten rule, but that day we were already pretty full, so the three of us ordered 4 servings of pork belly instead. We also ordered soybean paste stew with brisket (₩6,000) and perilla oil buckwheat noodles (₩6,500) — order complete.
Side dishes and the self-bar

Here's the side dish spread. The good part: there's bean sprout soup and tofu kimchi. When something's stuck in your throat, drinking that bean sprout soup basically clears the pipes.

You all know tofu kimchi is the ultimate appetizer, right? Piling stir-fried kimchi on top of tofu and eating it together is just amazing.

They even gave us an ice basket — such a nice touch!
There's a self-bar so you can take as much wrapping greens as you want. I picked perilla leaves and lettuce!

Let's grab whatever else we need. Now the table's nice and full.
Pre-grilled pork belly for four, plus pork skin

Here's the 4 servings of pork belly. It comes pre-grilled once already, so the juices are locked in nicely. And there's also pork skin 🌟, plus bracken fern, garlic scapes, and mushrooms served alongside.
Just look at that color. The meat quality was genuinely great too ദ്ദി・ᴗ・)✧

Meat grilled by someone else (my friend, in this case) always tastes the best somehow.

Sizzle, sizzle, snap. While it cooks, we dig into the side dishes diligently.

The pork skin comes almost fully cooked already, so you just need another 30 seconds on the grill. And you know curry powder is the unwritten rule for pork skin, right?

See those juices locked right in? This is exactly that flavor you get eating meat at a campsite. The fat part had great texture, and the skin still attached gave it a nice chewiness.

I greedily indulged in the classic 1 wrap, 2 pieces of meat move.

The grill marks left on the meat make it look so much more delicious.

This kimchi was totally my style. The well-fermented kimchi was so delicious I just kept eating it, over and over.

For dessert: soybean paste stew with brisket and perilla oil buckwheat noodles
For dessert, we ordered the perilla oil buckwheat noodles and the soybean paste stew with brisket.

Here's the soybean paste stew with brisket. It was absolutely packed with brisket. The more you eat this one, the more addictive it gets — a total rice thief.

There's a generous amount of tofu and meat in there. Taste-wise, it's exactly the kind of soybean paste stew you'd find at a good Korean BBQ place — totally my style. My top pick ( ⸝⸝•ᴗ•⸝⸝ ) ੭♡

The perilla oil buckwheat noodles had that nutty, clean flavor from the perilla seeds and oil, making it the perfect way to finish. It goes great with perilla leaves too. A perfect dessert to eat in summer.
