Gwanghwamun bakery café with cardamom buns: Lemangdoré

A café in Gwanghwamun for bread and coffee together

I visited Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun, a Gwanghwamun café and dessert specialist whose flagship is in Seorae Village. With three floors in total, it is quite a large space and sells a wide range of bakery items, drinks, and coffee. I thought it would also be a good café to visit around Gwanghwamun or City Hall.

Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun seating

There is a variety of seating from the first through third floors. The tables come in different sizes, so it looked suitable whether visiting alone or with a group. Each floor has a slightly different atmosphere and seating layout, so you can choose what suits your taste.

Coffee and drink menu

There are many drinks, including coffee, non-coffee options, and tea. You can enjoy different coffees such as espresso and hand-drip, so I think it would be a nice visit for coffee lovers too.

What bakery items are there?

As you would expect from a popular bakery in Jung-gu on Kakao Map, there was a broad bakery selection. There were chocolate desserts too, including chocolate baguettes and pain au chocolat.

There were also familiar bakery treats to enjoy, such as financiers, egg tarts, and croissants.

They also had cheesecake, sandwiches, and jambon-beurre baguettes. It was fun choosing from so many options, and I liked being able to pick according to my preference, from sweet desserts to meal-like items.

There was coffee for tasting, too

On one side of the shop, they had tasting coffee set out with paper cups and water. I had a light sip before my order came out, and the coffee was rich and flavorful, which made me look forward to my order even more.

Pain au chocolat and classic egg tart

I started with the pain au chocolat and egg tart. I usually love chocolate desserts. The pain au chocolat had a deep chocolate flavor, and the chocolate inside was sweet and delicious too. Its crisp exterior and soft interior came together so well that it was even tastier. The egg tart had a soft texture and a nutty flavor.

A cardamom bun that paired well with an Americano

The cardamom bun was crisp outside like a pastry while remaining soft inside. It also paired well with the Americano.

Gift goods that looked nice for presents

I also looked around the various goods displayed in the shop. There were madeleine and financier gift sets, which seemed like nice dessert gifts.

There were many items to browse, including coffee beans, drip bags, tumblers, cups, and plates.

My thoughts on this three-floor Gwanghwamun bakery café

I felt that Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is a Gwanghwamun café where you can enjoy bakery items and coffee together. As it has three floors, the space is roomy and works well whether you come alone or with several people. I also liked the wide bakery selection. It is a nice place to visit when you want to enjoy a range of bakery items and coffee in a spacious, comfortable setting. If you are looking for a café around Gwanghwamun or City Hall for bread and coffee, it may be worth keeping in mind.
