There are actually quite a few frozen pork belly restaurants around Dasan Station, but Eungbongjip's spread showed effort in every corner.

Fresh, good-quality frozen pork belly is a given, but on top of that there's house-made radish salad and kimchi, scallion salad tossed fresh with every order, and a variety of house sauces that bring out the meat's natural flavor. It looked humble but every element was made with care. A café-like vibe more than a pork belly joint

Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch felt more like a café than a typical pork belly restaurant — clean and stylish, not the usual samgyeopsal place atmosphere at all! I loved how tidy the space was right away. Deep green vertical tile walls paired with white marble-patterned tables gave off a clean yet sophisticated feel. Each table has its own burner and touchscreen order pad, so ordering and cooking could all be handled right at the seat.

Through the full glass windows you could see the streets around Dasan Station, which added a nice sense of openness. Wooden framed art and wood-toned decor on the walls blended with the green tile for a calm, grounded mood.

Thanks to the high ceilings, the space felt much bigger and more comfortable than it actually was, and the seating was spaced out generously, making it easy to visit with a group. If you're looking for a Korean BBQ spot with atmosphere near Dasan Station, Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch is a satisfying choice on interior alone.

What we ordered for two, and the total

  • 3-serving set ₩37,000
  • Minari ₩3,000
  • Eungbong cheonggukjang ₩8,000
  • Total for two: ₩48,000

We ordered the 3-serving 1+ hanwoo discount set at Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch. Adding fragrant minari and savory Eungbong cheonggukjang on top made for a pretty generous spread.

Side dishes laid out on a round table

How are the side dishes?

The round table was piled with side dishes, which was really the highlight of the setup — steamed egg, salted pollack roe sauce, chogochujang (vinegared chili paste), seasoning sauce, salt, wasabi, garlic and cheongyang chili, plus crunchy pickled cucumber. Just looking at the neatly arranged table showed how much thought went into every single side dish!

And the scallion salad, which I love, paired amazingly with the pork belly... it was so, so good.

1+ grade frozen pork belly with minari

The frozen hanwoo pork belly came out sliced thick, looking fresh and delicious from the start. The moment it hit the grill, the sizzling sound and savory smell filled the air — I was drooling instantly haha.

I love minari so I ordered extra, though it actually comes included as standard. I grilled the minari alongside the pork belly until it wilted slightly. The fragrant minari cut through any gamey taste and made the meat taste even cleaner. Samgyeopsal and minari really are a match — adding extra never feels like too much, so definitely order more!

I wrapped the nicely browned pork belly in lettuce with minari, kimchi, garlic and cheongyang chili for a full bite — soft, savory, and clean with no gamey taste at all. I also dipped it in steamed egg and enjoyed it with a saltier bite too, which made for varied and fun eating. Pork belly grilled with kimchi and minari is honestly the ultimate combo!

Finishing with Eungbong cheonggukjang

After eating a good amount of meat, we finished with Eungbong cheonggukjang (fermented soybean stew). The savory aroma wasn't too strong, so it was easy to enjoy, and a warm spoonful with tofu felt soothing on the stomach. Filling up on pork belly and finishing with a refreshing cheonggukjang — I'd recommend this course to anyone wanting a proper samgyeopsal meal near Dasan Station.

In summary

The frozen pork belly made with 1+ grade hanwoo pork had a wonderfully savory, soft texture without any gamey taste, and the fresh minari and house-made side dishes brought out the meat's flavor even more. The Eungbong cheonggukjang in particular wasn't too strong in aroma, making it an easy, comfortable way to finish. I'd recommend filling up on meat and ending on a refreshing note with the stew.

It's a 3-minute walk from Exit 4 of Dasan Station, stays open late, and offers free corkage, making it a good pick for group dinners or gatherings. If you want a thoughtfully prepared table in a stylish space, and you're searching for restaurants in the Dasan new town or Dasan Station area, I'd recommend Eungbongjip Dasan Station Branch.
