White ragù riccioli at Odd Bird Oliver, a Jeonpo pasta restaurant
In short
Odd Bird Oliver is a brunch and pasta restaurant on Dongseong-ro 15beon-gil in Jeonpo, Busan. On a dinner date visit the order was white ragù pasta (18.0) and bottarga aglio e olio (18.0), and the house-made white ragù sauce with curly, chewy riccioli pasta made for an unusually good texture. Soft lighting gives Odd Bird Oliver a warm evening mood that suits dates and small gatherings such as wedding-invitation dinners.

I've been so busy lately that it's been ages since my boyfriend and I had a proper date, ugh ㅠㅠㅠ So we finally decided to have a relaxed dinner together somewhere with good vibes, and we visited Odd Bird Oliver, a pasta restaurant in Jeonpo! haha
On the day we went, there was a wedding invitation gathering happening at the restaurant too — so it seems like a great spot not just for dates but also for small group meetups! haha

What is the interior of Odd Bird Oliver like at night?

The inside of Odd Bird Oliver has soft lighting combined with a warm-toned interior, so the moment you walk in you get this comfortable, cozy feeling!

Especially because the lighting is so soft, it was really nice for having a meal with a bit of evening atmosphere! On the day we visited, they seemed to have connected tables together for a wedding invitation gathering that was happening!
Odd Bird Oliver menu and what we ordered

As befits a Jeonpo brunch spot, Odd Bird Oliver also serves brunch dishes, but since we came in the evening, we went straight for pasta!!!
- Bottarga aglio e olio (18.0)
- White ragù pasta (18.0)

White ragù pasta: how the riccioli noodles taste

First up was the dish I'd been most curious about — the white ragù pasta! Ragù pasta is usually tomato-based, so I was curious how it would taste as a white version! Odd Bird Oliver's white ragù sauce is made in-house from scratch, apparently! Taking a bite, you can still taste that tangy flavor typical of ragù pasta, but it's much lighter and cleaner than a tomato-based one!

And instead of regular pasta noodles, they used riccioli pasta — curly noodles that look like they've had a perm, so cute lol. The noodles themselves were chewy and thick, making for a fun texture, a bit more unique than eating a regular pasta!!
Personally I'm not a big fan of tomato ragù, so I ordered this as a bit of a challenge — but oh... it was so much better than expected that I finished the whole bowl..!! lol
What does the bottarga aglio e olio taste like?

The bottarga aglio e olio had that classic garlicky flavor with a hint of spiciness added, which paired really well with the rich, meaty white ragù! Bottarga is sprinkled on top, but there wasn't any fishy taste at all! And it was loaded with plump shrimp too, giving off a strong, lovely seafood aroma haha

Personally, when I eat pasta, rich dishes like cream or ragù can get a little much after a few bites, but having the slightly spicy aglio e olio to switch between made it great haha
You just mix it all up like this!

Where did it all go....lolololol I'm on a diet but is this okay...? Truly scraped the plate clean...
Final verdict: a Jeonpo pasta restaurant for dates and small gatherings

A satisfying spot where my boyfriend and I finally got to have a relaxed date and eat delicious pasta after so long! The house-made white ragù and the riccioli pasta especially stood out from the pasta I usually eat, so it left an impression❕
The atmosphere is cozy and the menu is varied, so it seems like a good spot not just for dates but also for wedding invitation gatherings or small group meetups haha. If you're looking for a Jeonpo brunch spot or a Jeonpo pasta restaurant with a great atmosphere, I recommend this place🫶🏻
