Jeju black pork restaurant near Dream Tower for late lunch: Pork80

I’d like to introduce a great black pork spot I visited near my hotel in Jeju City during a trip to Jeju. I went for a late lunch while staying at Dream Tower Hotel in Jeju City. It was surprisingly hard to find somewhere close to the hotel that did not have a break time. More than anything, I wanted to share this black pork restaurant near Dream Tower because I could walk back to the hotel after eating.

Pork80 location and restaurant atmosphere

Pork80 is near Jeju Airport and Dream Tower. It is about 10 minutes from the airport, making it an easy location to get to.

It is a well-known place that was also featured on Choi Ja's Favorite Restaurants.

When I entered, the whole restaurant felt clean and the tables were comfortably spaced apart. I called ahead to check that there was no break time, so my table had already been set. It is a popular restaurant with plenty of visitors, so make a reservation in advance.

Since it specializes in charcoal grilling, I worried there might be a lot of smoke while eating, but it was more comfortable than expected. It looked like a nice place for couples to visit, and also comfortable for a family meal.

One platter of fresh short ribs, 600g, is ₩56,000.

A 300g serving of marinated short ribs is ₩19,000, and 160g of black pork hangeongsal (pork jowl) is ₩22,000.

The side dishes were neatly prepared too. There was seasoned scallion salad, macaroni salad, kimchi, and more, and I liked that they all went so well with the meat.

The kimchi especially suited my taste. Its spicy, punchy flavor made it great with the meat. I ordered a bowl of rice and had warm rice topped with kimchi, which really refreshed my palate after all the rich food on the trip. The side dishes were delicious too, so I refilled them a few more times~~

Traditional Jeju charcoal was brought out too~~ The air conditioning was blasting, so it was not hot~

The day I grilled ogyeopsal and pork neck over charcoal

That day, I first ordered one serving each of ogyeopsal and pork neck. I was surprised because the 300g portions were larger than at other restaurants.

I grilled the meat myself over charcoal. As it cooked, the meat itself looked so fresh and delicious.

A gentle charcoal aroma came through, and once the meat was cooked well, it stayed juicy. Dipped in the green tea salt provided, the ogyeopsal had a lovely chewy texture, while the pork neck was mild and tender. It made me think that when you come to Jeju, you really should have black pork at least once.

The meljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) that came with it was served generously in a ttukbaegi, and it was so delicious that it caught me by surprise.

Apparently this is the Jeju way, and mixed into rice, it was a real rice thief.

A black pork meal worth stopping by for during a Dream Tower stay

If you want black pork near Jeju Airport or are looking for somewhere to eat around Dream Tower, Pork80 is worth considering. It was also convenient to be able to eat black pork in the middle of the day without a break time. Above all, it was close to the hotel, making it a good spot for a drink with dinner too. The walk back to the hotel after the meal was an easy one, which made it even more convenient. That is why I especially want to recommend it to anyone staying near Dream Tower. I had such a comfortable meal on this Jeju trip that I will remember it as somewhere I would like to revisit next time I am near the airport.
