I went to [Taqueros], a Magok date spot, and had the fajita combo — seriously so good! Great for a Magok date, the vibe and the food were both fantastic.

Taqueros Magok Main Branch! Let me just say it upfront — this place is seriously delicious. Every single dish was way better than I expected, and from the fajita to the fish taco, the crispy chicken taco, and even the apple mango ade, there wasn't a single miss.

Usually when you order a set menu, the main dish is good but one of the side items ends up feeling kind of ordinary. But at Taqueros, every item in the set had its own clear charm. Everything was delicious, and I honestly can't count how many times I said "this is so good" while eating. It was memorable enough to stand out among the meals I've had recently.

Taqueros Magok Main Branch is on the 2nd floor, Room 202, of Magok GMG Tower, 16 Magokjungang 6-ro, Gangseo-gu, Seoul. It's close enough to Magok Station Exit 3 to walk from, so it's easy to reach by public transit, and there's a building parking lot too, so driving works fine. It's a great spot for a date in Magok, a gathering with friends, or just when you want something a little different.

What's the vibe like inside?

The moment I walked in, I could tell the vibe was definitely exotic. The red-toned interior and stylish decor blend together so well that it feels less like a regular restaurant and more like a Mexican pub or a casual restaurant abroad. Even before the food arrived, the atmosphere already put me in a good mood, and the background photographs beautifully too, so I think it'd make a great date spot.

I also liked that the atmosphere isn't too formal — you can just relax and talk while you eat. Once the food starts landing on the table, it gets gorgeous fast. With the fajita, tacos, colorful sauces, and apple mango ade filling the table, just looking at it was exciting. Even a quick snapshot came out with great colors, perfect for a blog or social media post.

That's about the interior and music — such a great Magok date spot.

If it's your first time at Taqueros and you're not sure what to order, I'd recommend the Signature Couple Set. You get to try the flagship fajita along with tacos, so it's a really well-rounded choice. Rather than sticking to one dish, you get to enjoy a variety of ingredients and flavors, so it's easy to recommend to both Mexican food lovers and first-timers alike.

The basic nachos alone kept my hands busy

First, the basic nachos that came out were already delicious. Dipping the crunchy nacho chips in the sauce really woke up my appetite. They were great to pick at while waiting for the mains, and honestly I couldn't stop reaching for more. The salty, savory nacho flavor combined with the smooth cheese sauce made for a combo that couldn't possibly taste bad from the very start.

The fajita: beef, chicken, and shrimp all in one pan

Then the fajita we'd been waiting for arrived. The moment it hit the table, the visual alone was incredible. On the big sizzling pan, there was beef, chicken, shrimp, and sautéed vegetables piled generously, and the sizzling sound and delicious smell drew everyone's eyes. The ingredients weren't just a token amount of each — there was plenty of every kind, which made it look really hearty.

With a fajita, you pile whatever ingredients you like onto a warm tortilla, add sauce, and wrap it up yourself. There's no fixed method, so you can mix whatever you feel like eating in the moment, which made it genuinely fun. One bite loaded with beef and sautéed vegetables, the next mixing in chicken and shrimp — I never got bored switching up the combinations to the very end.

If you pile on the ingredients generously, the tortilla gets so plump it's hard to fit in your mouth — but that abundance is exactly the fun of eating a fajita. The beef, vegetables, and sauce all coming together at once, filling your mouth completely, felt really satisfying. It tasted much better loaded generously to bursting than eaten with just a modest amount of ingredients.

How were the beef, chicken, and shrimp?

The beef wasn't tough at all — it was moist, and the more you chewed, the more savory it tasted. It had a deep, smoky flavor that paired really well with the tortilla, and the sautéed vegetables added a sweet, crunchy texture here and there. If it had been beef alone, it might have felt a bit heavy, but with plenty of vegetables mixed in, the overall balance was great.

The chicken was also tender, not dry at all. Even without sauce it was well seasoned, but adding a little of the various sauces made the flavor even richer. Depending on which sauce you chose, the same chicken could taste spicy or savory, so it felt different every time.

The shrimp especially was really delicious. It had that plump, springy texture, and every bite brought out the shrimp's distinctive umami flavor. Between the beef and the chicken, the shrimp felt like a refreshing change of pace. Piling shrimp and vegetables onto the tortilla and adding sauce really brought out that vibrant Mexican flavor.

The rice served alongside also paired really well with the fajita ingredients. The tortilla is delicious with just meat and vegetables, but adding a bit of rice made each bite even more filling and satisfying. With meat, vegetables, rice, and sauce all coming together, it tasted like a complete, balanced dish.

The sauces each had their own distinct character too, which made choosing fun. There was a smooth and savory one, a tangy one, and a slightly spicy one, so you could pick according to your taste. I liked mixing a little of several sauces together with a fully loaded tortilla rather than sticking to just one — the sauce didn't mask the ingredients' flavors, it enhanced the beef and vegetables even more.

The fajita's dramatic visual when it first arrives is great, but the process of wrapping it yourself makes it even more enjoyable. It's fun to recommend combinations back and forth with whoever you're with — "try it with this combo next" — and it's also great for a slow conversation over the meal. That's why I'd recommend it for a Magok date spot or a group gathering.

Fish taco: crispy outside, moist inside, no fishy taste to worry about

Next up was the fish taco. Honestly, tacos with fish can sometimes worry you a bit — will it taste fishy or greasy? But with Taqueros' fish taco, none of that worry was needed. The fried fish was crispy outside and moist inside, and the vegetables and sauce inside kept it tasting fresh and bright — really delicious.

The batter on the fried fish wasn't too thick, but it definitely had that crispy bite. Take a bite and you first hear the crunch, then the tender fish flesh follows. "Crispy outside, tender inside" fit it perfectly. The fish itself was light and moist, so even though it was fried, it didn't feel heavy or greasy.

Add in the fresh vegetables and sauce, and the flavor became much more layered. The bright sauce cut through the savory fried batter, and the crunch of the vegetables kept the texture lively too. Within a single fish taco, you get crispiness, tenderness, and crunch all at once, which made it fun to eat.

Especially after eating the hearty fajita, the fish taco felt like a light, refreshing change of pace. The combo of light fish and a bright sauce was so good that I kept eating even when full. Even people who don't usually eat fish tacos would probably enjoy this one plenty.

Of everything I ate this time, the fish taco was far more memorable than I expected. If the fajita is rich and hearty, the fish taco has a crispy, refreshing charm. It finishes clean without any greasiness, so it's a taco I'd definitely choose again on my next visit.

Crispy chicken taco

The crispy chicken taco was, true to its name, seriously crispy. It's loaded with generously sized, crispy fried chicken, so its presence is unmistakable from the first bite. If the fish taco had a light, refreshing charm, the chicken taco was richer and more savory — the kind of flavor everyone would like.

The chicken was crispy on the outside but the meat inside stayed moist, not dry at all. The savory aroma and crunchy texture of freshly fried chicken went really well with the vegetables and sauce inside the tortilla. Chicken alone would already be tasty, but eating it as a taco layered multiple textures and flavors together, making it feel even more special.

The crunch of the chicken, the softness of the tortilla, and the crispness of the vegetables came through in sequence, making every bite genuinely enjoyable. The sauce added a touch of bright, spicy contrast to the chicken's savory richness, keeping it from feeling repetitive. If you're someone who loves crispy chicken dishes like fried chicken or chicken burgers, the crispy chicken taco is guaranteed to be a hit!!

Is the portion enough for two?

The portion was generous too. It's called a couple set, but since the fajita is so hearty and you also get two taco pieces, it's a filling enough spread for two people. Some people might even find it really substantial. With multiple kinds of meat, shrimp, vegetables, rice, tortillas, and tacos all included, the value for the price felt high.

What I liked most about Taqueros wasn't just the quantity — every single dish had a clear, confident flavor. The beef and seafood in the fajita each had their own distinct texture, and the sautéed vegetables and sauces didn't feel like an afterthought either. The fish taco and crispy chicken taco each showed off their own character without getting overshadowed by the main fajita.

Sometimes a place looks gorgeous in photos but tastes pretty ordinary once you actually eat it. Taqueros was a place where the satisfaction of actually eating it was even bigger than how it looks in photos. It felt like it nailed all three things at once — pretty visuals, generous portions, and solid flavor.

Is it okay for Mexican food first-timers?

I love Mexican food, but sometimes if it's too salty or the spices are too strong, it's hard to eat a lot of it. Taqueros' food, though, had plenty of exotic charm without feeling like too much. Each ingredient's flavor came together well, and you can adjust the sauces to your taste, so it was easy to enjoy comfortably.

It'd be a great place to visit with someone trying Mexican food for the first time too. Since it's centered around familiar things like beef, chicken, shrimp, and fried fish, the entry barrier isn't high, and there's the fun of wrapping it yourself in the tortilla. If you're visiting with kids, being able to pick and choose which ingredients to add is a plus too. They actually have a high chair on site, so it's great for a family meal out — and especially recommended as a Magok date spot!

If you want to try proper tacos and fajita in Magok, or you're looking for a good-vibe Magok date spot, I'd recommend Taqueros. Next time, I want to try some of the other tacos one by one. The Signature Couple Set we ordered this time was generous and satisfying enough that I'd order it again on a repeat visit.
