Ash brown color after 7 years, scalp clinic at Anew Hair Cheongdam

My hair is about mid-length and I really want to grow it out nicely, but why is it so hard to manage? ㅠㅠ 🥹🥹

I dry it carefully every night but wake up with it sticking out everywhere, so hard to manage, so I went to a hair salon that offers a hair consultation.

How does the hair consultation work?

If it's your first visit, you ✔️ fill out a checklist and ✔️ the consultation space is so pretty.

Mine was handled by head designer Eunbyeol. My biggest hair concern right now was lack of volume, and finding a style that's both easy to manage and suits me.

The hair consultation includes

a simple personal color diagnosis

all the way to a face-shape analysis based on Asian proportions, checked in one go. I originally came in thinking about a perm, but after the consultation I decided to go with color dye instead since it has more impact on an image change, so exciting • •

The scalp and hair diagnosis results were a shock

Then they checked my scalp and hair condition in detail using a machine

ㄱ shock ㄴ the photo on the left is my scalp. It ran pretty hot, and there was more flaking buildup than I expected,,,,

Since it was my first color dye in 7 years I had a lot of second thoughts, but I decided to follow the director's recommendation, and on top of that added a scalp clinic that's effective for calming the scalp after dyeing. The clinic cost varies by scope, so it's best to ask during consultation!!

The salon atmosphere

I zipped straight into the consultation room so I didn't get a good look, but the white-toned interior is elegant and pretty.

Floor-to-ceiling windows give the whole space an open, airy feel.

I asked for a brown that wouldn't pull red, and the director recommended ash brown ~! Since my hair was such a deep black tone, both of us worried a bit about whether the color would actually come out as light as we hoped.

After applying the dye I waited about 40 minutes, with the last 10-15 minutes under a heat machine as well

Scalp clinic after coloring

Right after the shampoo I moved over to the scalp clinic space next door, and the chair here is a massage chair..!! My whole body relaxed and my scalp felt properly refreshed and cool, I kept saying 'this feels so good' as the care products soothed my scalp that had been irritated by the dye chemicals.

Contrary to what she'd worried about, the director was happy it came out light 😎😎

It felt a bit unfamiliar at first since it had been so long since I'd dyed my hair, but the more I look at it the more I love how it suits my skin tone.

Compare it to the photo taken at 12:45 — even after dyeing, there's no flaking between the strands and the scalp is smooth and soft, right??

The ash brown color shifts subtly with the light, 🤎🩶🤎🩶 and it's so pretty.
