My boyfriend said he wanted a perm again after a long while, so I tagged along. I went in with high expectations and came out very satisfied — here's my review of VOG HAIR Changwon City Seven Branch right away✨✨

From the underground parking lot, take elevator 4 or 5, then just walk straight toward the left of CGV.

Right as you walk in, you see the 'Best Perm Store' award!! Yep, we came here for a perm~~ All my worries melted away the moment I saw it🧡

They also have all kinds of hair products on display and a wall full of the hair designers' business cards. We got our service from designer Wonjong, who specializes in men's hair :)

Before starting the service, we first had a consultation with the hair designer at the waiting seats!!

My boyfriend wanted a super tight baby perm, but after strong persuasion he decided, decision made, to go with the see-through shadow perm that's trendy these days.

We only showed a few photos of the look we wanted, and the designer instantly caught the key points and needs. That's when my worry of 'what if the hair turns out bad' started to fade away haha

VOG HAIR, a Changwon hair salon, stretches out widely on both sides. The chairs are also spaced out generously, so you can get your service done comfortably without worrying about the people around you.

Scalp diagnosis

Before starting the service, they first do a scalp and hair diagnosis. Apparently a normal scalp is clear/translucent with open pores!! They also told us how to pick a good shampoo with healthy ingredients for hair — super kind haha

I was worried about his scalp condition, but turns out my boyfriend's scalp was really healthy haha, no need to worry about hair loss~~

Since we were getting a perm, they kept the length as much as possible and only cleaned up and neatened the ends. Even with just the cut done, it already looks so~ neat

Where does the see-through shadow perm add curl?

After the cut, on to the perm. A see-through shadow perm adds thick, soft S-curls and C-curls at the crown and back of the head. I wondered why they only permed the top, and apparently if you add curl to the sides too, the hair looks messy and can end up making the head look way too big lol

Once all the rollers are set, they do heat treatment for about 15 minutes~~

Then they did the second round of heat treatment~~ Apparently my boyfriend's hair is so thin and straight that perm curls don't hold well ㅠㅠ

Sure enough, the curl didn't come through well at first, so they left it a bit longer, and the curl gradually started coming to life haha, all fluffy~~

Time was up, so shampoo time!!! He said the shampoo chairs at VOG HAIR are super comfortable, and they even tucked a blanket over him with such nice touch haha. The most nerve-wracking moment right before seeing the result~~

Before blow-drying, VOG HAIR gives you an oil massage, and he said it was absolute heaven lol. There are three kinds — relaxing essential oil, draining essential oil, and modeling essential oil — and we chose relaxing haha

Finally done!!! Before styling, you can see it's still a bit tightly curled, right?! While drying it, they kindly explained step by step how to style and dry the hair afterward. This designer is the best👍🏻👍🏻

We were worried the curl wouldn't come through because of his thin straight hair, but it actually turned out even more natural — my boyfriend was very satisfied haha.
