Seafood ssamjang pork rice bowl set

I went all in with the spicy beef brisket doenjang jjageuli, a seafood ssamjang pork rice bowl set, and two gim-mari twigim (fried seaweed rolls), haha.

Seafood ssamjang pork rice bowl set and jjageuli meal spread

Here comes the seafood ssamjang pork rice bowl set~~ You could choose the meat, and I picked pork neck!! This rice bowl brings together house-made ssamjang (a savory soybean dipping paste) with seafood and fire-grilled pork belly—amazing, right? (❁´◡`❁)

The rice was piled generously with meat, mushrooms, shishito peppers, and shredded scallions!! Such a perfect match ><

The smoky flavor came through, along with seafood ssamjang. That ssamjang gives it a taste that's a little different from an ordinary pork rice bowl!!!

Kimchi stew side with the pork rice bowl set

Even kimchi stew came as a side—absolutely perfect, haha. A solo meal this generous is just pure happiness~~

The earthy, salty savoriness distinctive to ssamjang went so well with the rice that I kept reaching for it, while the umami of the fire-grilled pork belly kicked up my appetite every so often!!!

Spicy beef brisket doenjang jjageuli

Spicy beef brisket doenjang jjageuli

This is the beef brisket doenjang jjageuli >< A traditional Jeolla-style doenjang jjageuli deeply simmered with special doenjang (fermented soybean paste) and fire-grilled beef brisket, haha. You can choose the spice level, so I went spicy!!!

When I saw the jjageuli bubbling away, the earthy aroma of doenjang hit me first~~ The beef brisket made it feel even richer!!! The broth was thick and just saucy enough, so it was great alongside rice, hahaha. It was packed with ingredients like tofu, zucchini, and onion too, so I was really excited (✿◡‿◡)

The beef brisket's rich meaty flavor blending into the doenjang base is the key feature, haha. Jjageuli is at its absolute best when you mix it with seaweed flakes and a fried egg like this, right!!! Its earthy, salty flavor went incredibly well with rice—so good 👍

Two crisp fried seaweed rolls

A light add-on of fried seaweed rolls

I tried two fried seaweed rolls as well!! The crisply fried rolls were great alongside seasoned dishes like jjageuli or rice bowls~~~ It's not an overly filling side, so it's just right as a light add-on to your main dish!!!
