Char-dol jjambbong, jjajangmyeon & tangsuyuk set in Bangi-dong

I was craving Chinese food for lunch today, so I headed to Bangi-dong haha. I wanted jjajangmyeon but couldn't give up on spicy jjambbong either, so while searching for a good jjambbong spot in Bangi-dong I found Jjambbongwan Seoul Bangi Branch!

We visited on a weekday just after 1pm~ Since it was a bit past the lunch peak, we could eat more comfortably than expected.

What's the vibe like at Jjambbongwan Seoul Bangi Branch?

Walking in, the place felt neat and tidy overall. Chinese restaurants tend to have a lot of oil-heavy dishes, so the cleanliness of the tables and the store overall is always something I'm a bit wary of. Here, the tables and the whole space were pretty clean, so it made a great first impression~

The drinks from the dispenser being free refills was great, and there was plenty of ice too! Some places skimp on ice, so this was really nice!

The staff were friendly, and since it was past lunch rush when we visited, it wasn't too crowded. Visiting after 1pm on a weekday, we didn't need a reservation and got seated right away. If you want a more relaxed meal, going slightly after the lunch peak seems like a good idea haha.

What we ordered that day was char-dol jjambbong, a jjajangmyeon + tangsuyuk set, and yeonyu kkotppang.

One thing I loved about ordering here was that the food came out faster than expected! Personally I think that's pretty important at a Chinese restaurant haha. Especially with noodle dishes like jjambbong or jjajangmyeon, you really need to eat them right when they arrive while still hot~ The wait wasn't long and the food came out quickly so we could dig in right away — I really liked that.

Char-dol Jjambbong

First up, char-dol jjambbong! I picked this because I wanted something more filling than the regular jjambbong. It came piled high with char-dol (thinly sliced beef brisket) and vegetables, looking great from the start~ Since I'd specifically searched for jjambbong in Bangi-dong before visiting, this was the dish I was most looking forward to.

You've got to eat jjambbong right when the steam's still rising, right haha. Thanks to it coming out fast, we could eat it hot right away, and with all that char-dol piled in, it definitely felt heartier than the regular jjambbong.

The noodles came right away too, so I took one photo and slurped them up~ Since we could eat them before they got soggy, the fast serving speed really showed its value here.

Jjajangmyeon

And then the jjajangmyeon we ordered together showed up! Why is it that eating jjambbong always makes you crave jjajangmyeon too lol. Couldn't pick just one, so we ordered jjajangmyeon as well that day.

As soon as it arrived, the sauce and noodles were mixed evenly~ Seeing the glossy, well-mixed jjajangmyeon, my chopsticks went straight for it haha. Alternating bites between the spicy jjambbong and the jjajangmyeon was a great combo too.

Tangsuyuk

The tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) that came with the set also arrived. It just feels incomplete to go to a Chinese restaurant without tangsuyuk haha. It was nice to have alongside the jjambbong and jjajangmyeon between bites — glad we ordered it.

What I liked most was that everything came out looking clean and neat overall. The tidy impression I got walking into the store carried right through into how the food was presented~

Yeonyu Kkotppang

The last thing we had was yeonyu kkotppang! After the jjambbong, jjajangmyeon, and tangsuyuk, I found myself craving something sweet again haha.

We finished the meal dipping the flower bread into condensed milk. From mains to sides, we ate a good variety and ended up quite full for a lunch.

Jjambbongwan Seoul Bangi Branch — a spot I found while searching for jjambbong in Bangi-dong! The store was clean and the staff were friendly, so we had a comfortable meal.

Personally, what I liked most was how fast the food came out! At a Chinese restaurant, food needs to come quickly after ordering so you can eat it while it's hot. What we ordered that day was prepared quickly with not much waiting, and I really liked that haha.

We got to try several dishes together — char-dol jjambbong, jjajangmyeon, tangsuyuk, and yeonyu kkotppang — and since we went slightly outside the weekday lunch rush, the store was relaxed and we could eat comfortably.
