In short

Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch is a Korean BBQ restaurant near Bangi-dong's restaurant alley in Songpa, Seoul, serving beef gopchang, daechang and makchang all in one meal. Visiting on a weekend evening with family, the writer waited briefly before being seated, watched staff grill all three cuts, added potato, rice cake and kimchi to the grill, and finished with kkakdugi fried rice. Grilled beef gopchang, the signature dish at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch

Last weekend I went with my family to eat some delicious gopchang (beef intestines) at Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch 🥰 It's located near the Bangi-dong restaurant alley, and it's a place where you can enjoy beef gopchang, daechang (large intestine) and makchang (abomasum) all together :) Since it's a well-known spot, there was a wait when we visited too 🥹 But chatting with my family while we waited, we got seated sooner than expected :)

The Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang sign was big and easy to spot outside the building :) There were also waiting seats right next to the restaurant, so we could sit comfortably while we waited haha

The weekend evening atmosphere

The interior was mostly round tables, and maybe because it was the weekend, there were so many customers! After waiting, we went in and even the back of the restaurant was packed haha

Basic setting and side dishes

The basic setting included a dipping sauce to eat with the gopchang :)

The house-made kimchi went really well with the gopchang too 🥰 And steamed egg came as a basic side dish, which was the best 👍🏻

Beef gopchang

We started with the beef gopchang first 😆 It was generously filled with fat, so the first bite had a rich, nutty flavor, and the distinctive chewy texture was great too! The staff grilled it for us themselves, so we could just relax and eat without worrying about the grilling 🫶🏻

Eating the beef gopchang with the dipping sauce added even more savory depth — it was really delicious 👍🏻

Beef makchang and beef daechang

The beef makchang had a texture completely different from the gopchang and was appealing in its own way, while the beef daechang looked plump and grilled up golden brown, full of nutty flavor. Since makchang and daechang differ from each other in texture and flavor, alternating between the two meant we could enjoy variety without getting tired of either.

Potato, rice cake and kimchi grilled on the pan

We also grilled potato, rice cake and kimchi on the pan. The potato and rice cake, grilled until golden, were nutty and delicious, and the grilled kimchi really cut through the richness of the gopchang — it went perfectly!

Finishing with kkakdugi fried rice

We finished up by ordering kkakdugi fried rice too 🥰 After eating gopchang, the crunchy, savory kkakdugi mixed with the rice was such a great match 👍🏻 Personally, it's a flavor I really want to have again! Even with my stomach fairly full, I kept reaching for more haha

How was it as a family meal out?

Overall, this was a place we visited with family and ate really well 🥰 We got to enjoy beef gopchang, daechang and makchang all in variety, and finishing with kkakdugi fried rice made the meal really filling 👍🏻

Above all, there were enough customers for a wait when we visited, and after eating there myself, I could see why so many people come here! My family enjoyed the meal too, so I was satisfied, and it's a place I'd like to visit again the next time I think of gopchang in Bangi-dong ❤️ If you're looking for a family meal out or a delicious gopchang dinner with friends in Bangi-dong, I think Jinseong Hanwoo Gopchang Bangi Direct Branch is worth a visit!
