Suwon gyukatsu restaurant with butter tabletop grilling: Gyuen-dang

Over the weekend, we went to Avenue France Gwanggyo to get my boyfriend's hair looking nice and take some Life Four Cuts photos, and there happened to be a gyukatsu restaurant in the same building—so the two of us wandered in like we were under a spell, haha. I'd fed him gyukatsu once before, and he said it was so good afterward, so I'd been meaning to bring him again hahaha.

What about parking at Avenue France Gwanggyo?

They even support parking for a full four hours, so there is plenty of time to eat, browse Avenue France, and visit a café too! Is Suwon just especially generous with parking lots? They support it longer than Avenue France Pangyo, so we could look around leisurely after our meal!

A calm interior for solo meals and dates

The interior has that neat, clean Japanese restaurant vibe exactly. 🤍

There are nicely arranged table seats inside, plus bar seating by the windows, so it is great for a meal with a friend or a date. If you are looking for a good solo-dining spot near Gwanggyo, this would be absolutely perfect! It was pleasant overall with a calm atmosphere, so it was nice to chat over our meal.

They have lots of options, including gyukatsu, steak rice bowls, omurice, and curry, so there are plenty of choices even if you do not specifically want gyukatsu!

Ordering two sirloin gyukatsu sets

I heard the omurice here is famous because it is delicious too, but we came for gyukatsu, so we ordered two sirloin gyukatsu sets!

Before eating, we also ordered Zero Coke and Zero Sprite!

The standard sides include miso soup, cabbage salad, and red danmuji (pickled radish)! The salad was perfect for whetting our appetite before the meal.

This seasoned? pickled radish is seriously the key. It was sweet, tangy, and spicy, so it was perfect to eat alongside the meat when things got rich!

Grilling with butter on the mini brazier

You just grill it on the mini brazier that comes with the meal to your preferred doneness! Put butter on it and let it sizzle away~~ 🥓 The butter was Isigny butter, too. You can get extra if you need it, but one was plenty for us!

The juices the second I took a bite, seriouslyㅠㅠㅠ And the meat was so tender!! It practically melted in my mouth ㅠㅠㅠ My absolute favorite pairing is wasabi and salt, no question! Please make sure to try it this way ㅠㅠㅠ It is a combo that simply cannot taste bad,,ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ

My boyfriend had been singing gyukatsu's praises before, so I brought him here, and it was a huge success for both of us, haha. The portions were quite generous, but we did not leave a single piece behind, haha. The standard sides were all neat and good, and we were both so satisfied with the generous, delicious gyukatsu! If you are looking for a good restaurant at Avenue France Gwanggyo or somewhere near Gwanggyo Jungang Station for an easy solo meal, I recommend Gyuen-dang, a great gyukatsu spot at Avenue France Gwanggyo!
