Did you have a good weekend? I went to Ganghan Sushi, a well-known sushi spot in Buldang-dong, over the weekend! To cut to the chase — it was seriously buzzing with a waiting line. Customers just kept coming, nonstop waiting. I went to Ganghan Sushi for a Buldang-dong lunch.

It's located in the commercial strip in front of Buldang Jiwell Prugio 1-danji. Maybe because it was the weekend, the surrounding shops were packed with people too.

There's a huge menu board out front, so you can check the menu before even walking in. Most people seemed to order the set menus.

When you order a sushi set, you get udon, seafood croquette, miso soup, and washed aged kimchi. No break time, solo dining welcome, and takeout is available too.

No more Monday closing day — Ganghan Sushi now opens daily
No break time is really nice. Sometimes you show up somewhere only to get caught in a break time and it's such a hassle. And this Buldang-dong sushi spot used to close every Monday, but I heard that's gone now — they operate every day. I once tried to visit on a Monday and it happened to be closed, so I had to turn back disappointed. Now that there's no closed day, you can visit anytime, which is great.

Ordering the Ganghan Sushi 12-piece: what's on the menu?
There's a wide variety of menus, but what we ordered was the Ganghan Sushi 12P. There's the basic 12-piece sushi set, the special 12P, and even a signature omakase sushi 12P. Beyond that, there were tons of options to choose from based on personal taste, like 2P sushi and salmon sushi. Here's the basic composition of the Ganghan Sushi 12P we ordered.

One line at the bottom caught my eye: 'A guest is not a car.' Just as a car doesn't run on any old fuel, they made the point that you shouldn't just eat any food — they use fresh ingredients to make each meal satisfying! It gave me the impression that this Buldang-dong sushi spot really puts care into its ingredients and food.
On the table, pickled radish and ginger are set out as a default. Soy sauce, and even an Apollo candy straw for after the meal, haha.

All plated up nicely and ready to eat lol. Under the table you'll find paper cups, plates, wet wipes, utensils, and tissues all neatly lined up.

What comes with the set: udon, seafood croquette and miso soup
With the Ganghan Sushi set, before the sushi arrives you get miso soup, udon, and seafood croquette as standard. Starting with the seafood croquette — yum~

This was really crispy and tasty. Eating it with the cabbage that came alongside made it even better~

The udon was also yum~ a standard udon broth base with plump noodles~ sushi and udon feel like a match made in heaven. The portion was just right to pair with the sushi. Nyami~
And the miso soup served alongside. Eating miso soup after the sushi made the cleanness of it feel even more amplified, you know~
How did the Ganghan Sushi 12-piece set taste?
The main sushi arrived. Ganghan Sushi 12P.

It looked really fresh and the composition seemed solid too. From the clean egg sushi to my favorite tuna sushi, haha! They also brought aged kimchi (mukeunji). Tangy and sweet~
Close-up shots of each piece lol. The cleanness and softness of handmade sushi, so different from mass-produced stuff... I could really taste it at Ganghan Sushi.

How long is the lunchtime wait at Ganghan Sushi?
Even while we were eating, the waiting kept happening — what's going on!! I haven't seen a sushi place with an actual wait among the ones I've visited lately, so this must really be a Buldang-dong sushi hotspot, wow. They even have reserved seating~

Tuna, soy-marinated shrimp, gamtae seaweed shrimp and salmon sushi
The delicious tuna sushi~ I saved this one for last, haha.

The soy sauce shrimp sushi, aged for 24 hours~ the sweetness of the shrimp, so good~ not too salty and really tasty~

The gamtae shrimp sushi, wrapped in gamtae (seaweed) coating, was tasty too~

And the salmon sushi, need I say more~ it melted softly in my mouth. The flounder sushi was fresh too — dipped in soy sauce with a bit of wasabi on top, yum~
Parking and the feel of the Ganghan Sushi dining room
Parking was convenient, the restaurant was small but clean, and above all the staff were really friendly, which made Ganghan Sushi even better! It was a satisfying, well-fed weekend lunch.
