Cheonan pork skin and skirt meat grill house: Euljiro Yeontan Gui

A few days ago my husband and I wanted good meat and a glass of soju, so we went to Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch! The funny thing is, it hasn't even been that many days since we went together, and tonight, right now, my husband is out drinking there again with a friend haha. Genuinely paid with our own money, this place! At this rate it's becoming his regular haunt haha.

Why we went back to Euljiro Yeontan Gui in Buldang-dong, Cheonan

When a place turns out good on the first try, you naturally think of it again when deciding where to go next, right? My husband and I like eating meat with a drink, so we love this kind of grill-house vibe, and Euljiro Yeontan Gui Cheonan Buldang Branch grills the meat over real charcoal, so the aroma is insane!! It's so good and the menu is varied, so it kept coming to mind :)

What is Euljiro Yeontan Gui like inside? Open doors give it an outdoor-tent feel

True to its name, the place has that charcoal-grill atmosphere — not a clean, quiet grill house, but a slightly lively, comfortable spot for a casual drink! With the weather cooling down, they left the doors open, so it felt like eating at an outdoor tent bar (yajang) :)

What we ordered, plus the seafood menu at Euljiro Yeontan Gui

We started with pork belly, then moved on to skirt meat, pork skin, and finished with doenjang stew!

Besides the meat menu, they also have fan mussel, scallop, abalone, and sea squirt, so it'd be great to visit with friends who love seafood too!!!

The basic side dishes are exactly what you want alongside meat!!!

Charcoal pork belly at 5,900 won per 100g, from three servings up

When eating meat, pork belly is the safest first order, right? We ordered three servings of pork belly first, and you might think, why is three servings so small?! But here it's sold by 100g units at ₩5,900 per 100g, so it's a completely wallet-friendly grill house!!!

Watching the pork belly sizzle away on the charcoal made my mouth water haha. Nicely browned pork belly is delicious on its own or wrapped up with all sorts of extras, so the drinks just kept flowing, one glass after another 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Skirt meat: chewy cuts that go best with soju

It would've felt like something was missing to stop at just pork belly, so this time we also ordered skirt meat! We tried it on our last visit and it was so good we got it again :) Skirt meat (ddwitgogi) is skkodeul-sal, a chewy cut different from pork belly, so it's highly recommended as a drinking snack!!

Pork skin, two pieces for 4,000 won — unbeatable value

When you're eating meat, there's always one dish you think of at the end haha — pork skin! And the value on it is crazy too!! Two pieces for four thousand won!!! In the end we ordered the pork skin too and grilled it crisp over the charcoal :) Once it's well-grilled and the surface turns golden brown, the chewy, nutty flavor really comes alive, pairing perfectly with soju. Before we knew it, we'd gone through one bottle, two bottles, three bottles,,, haha.

Soju and beer just kept pouring haha. We couldn't tell anymore if we'd come to eat meat and ended up drinking, or come to drink and ended up eating meat. But isn't that kind of easy, relaxed eating and drinking exactly the charm of a grill house?

Finishing with doenjang stew and a spoonful of rice

At the end, doenjang stew (soybean paste soup). After eating meat and drinking for a while, that salty, warm broth really hits the spot?! And since my husband is the type who craves carbs when he's been drinking, having a spoonful of rice with the doenjang stew made him say, "Ah, you really do have to finish with stew!"

We left completely full that day, and even after finishing, we said "let's come back here again next time!" And the fact that my husband actually went back today with a friend says it all haha. That's how much this place comes to mind when you're looking for somewhere easygoing to eat meat and have a drink in Buldang-dong, Cheonan.
