Why did I choose it for a friend’s birthday party?

For a friend’s birthday, I looked for a place where we could spend time comfortably on our own. That led me to New Chapter Studio (뉴챕터스튜디오) on Baegot-ro in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon.

At a typical restaurant, I would often be conscious of other diners when bringing out a cake or taking photos as a group. This time, we had the space to ourselves and could celebrate comfortably. We lit candles on the cake we brought and took plenty of photos.

How was it for birthday photos?

The space was neat and decorated with a photo-friendly atmosphere. Before visiting, I worried it might be too small or lack a suitable place to take pictures, but it was easier to use than I expected.

We chatted and rested, then took photos and ate cake. Since it also had the feel of a studio, taking birthday keepsake photos was fun.

When choosing a place, I also considered whether it would be good for photos. Here, even just one cake was enough to create a birthday atmosphere without elaborate preparations.

We took solo photos of the birthday friend and group photos with everyone. As we took pictures for one another, we ended up doing more photography than I had expected.

Was it comfortable for spending time with friends?

I liked that we did not have to worry about other people watching us. At a café, I would have felt cautious about lighting candles on a cake or having several people take photos, but renting the space was much more comfortable.

It had been a while since we had all met, and I think we spent more time chatting than celebrating the birthday. It felt relaxed because we could stay in one place to talk and take photos instead of having to leave right after a meal.

What should you consider for a friend’s birthday party?

It would be helpful to check in advance whether the space suits the number of people attending and the atmosphere you want. We brought a cake, and I thought adding a few simple birthday props would also work well for keepsake photos.

What I liked most about this visit was being able to relax with friends and take photos as well. It felt like a suitable space when planning both a small birthday party and keepsake photos.

I was happy that the birthday friend enjoyed it too. It was a day spent talking together and taking photos for one another.
