Getting to Hekbap Kkachisan Branch near Kkachisan Station
Entrance and exterior

I’d been wanting to come back to Seoul for ages, and I finally made the trip up to take care of some things and meet a friend! So today I came to the well-known Hekbap Kkachisan Branch near Kkachisan Station in Seoul~ I was staying in Gayang, so it was really close, which was great. I’m so jealous of how convenient Seoul public transit isㅠ haha

The restaurant is on the second floor~ As I walked up, I could see photos of the dishes, and they already had me wanting to eat right away! I was already agonizing over what to order just looking at them, haha.
Interior seating and menu selection
Inside the restaurant

Wow, the interior was more spacious and pleasant than I expected~ We arrived at opening time, but there were already quite a few customers. There are lots of tables farther inside too, so it looked good for a group gathering!

There are also comfortable counter seats for one by the window~ The weather was seriously lovely, and having delicious food while looking outside would be so nice! I wondered what “Hekbap” meant, and it turns out it means a restaurant that stays true to the essence of rice, haha.

There was a magic solution sitting on the table, and when my husband tried it, that message came up. When I asked what question he had asked, he wouldn’t tell me, lol. (Hmph...)
Menu

Wow, there are so~ many menu items. The new dishes are spicy buta don (pork rice bowl) and spicy Western-style pork cutlet, and there’s such a wide range of rice bowls, ramen, curry and katsu, soba, udon, and more! The spice levels are marked too, so even people who can’t handle heat can order without worry, while spice lovers can choose a higher level. I thought that was really nice~
Trying the kara ramen and pork jowl rice bowl sets

Ta-da! Our pork jowl rice bowl set and kara ramen set have arrived~

Wow, the food looked incredible~ Doesn’t it look so appetizing?ㅠㅠ The broth was red and rich, and I couldn’t wait to dig in. The portions were seriously generous too—just the best~ haha. I’d had drinks with friends the night before, so I was craving something brothy, lol. It was spicy and warming, and it felt like it really cleared me right out!

The rice bowl was piled generously with pork jowl too~ The pork-jowl sauce was so tasty, and the smoky charred flavor was no joke. Since it was a set, it came with udon as well, and my husband absolutely loved it!

I was genuinely surprised by how huge the chashu pork on the ramen was~ Wrapping it around the noodles was seriously delicious! The egg, bracken fern, and mushroom toppings were all so good too.

The set also came with fried chicken, and it was fried incredibly crispy~ Dipped in the sauce, it was total bliss! Even while we were eating, customers kept coming in, and there were seriously so many delivery orders~ How many, you ask? Delivery notifications kept going off and drivers kept arriving, lol. That must mean it’s a restaurant people really vouch for, right?
If you’re near Kkachisan Station, I strongly recommend visiting Hekbap Kkachisan Branch, where you can choose from a wide range of dishes that are delicious enough to live up to its promise of protecting the essence of a meal!! Haha
