I've been craving ramen lately, so while looking around Eunpyeong I ended up at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong.

Oreno Ramen has long been famous as a ramen hotspot and I'd wanted to try it for a while — after actually visiting, I could see why so many people go.

Inside Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong: the space and seating
The first thing I noticed on arrival was the clean signage and the overall tidy atmosphere. The entrance felt neat and welcoming, and the inside was more pleasant than I expected.

Especially in this hot weather, walking into a restaurant can sometimes feel stuffy and warm, but the air conditioning here was strong, so I could eat in cool comfort.

A coat hanger by the table so your clothes don't smell
The tables were neatly arranged, and I loved that there was a hanger on one side for hanging up jackets. Eating ramen can leave your clothes smelling of food, which always bugs me a little, so being able to hang them separately was really convenient. It felt like a thoughtful little touch.

Free rice refills, pickled radish and kimchi
Another thing that stood out at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong was the free rice refills. There was a sign on the table saying rice refills were free, which is great news if you like eating rice along with your ramen broth.

The basic pickled radish and kimchi were also good pairings with the ramen. On this visit we ordered one tori paitan and one kara paitan, each with an added egg.

How does the tori paitan at Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong taste?
First, the tori paitan, true to its status as the restaurant's signature dish, had a broth that was quite rich and smooth. Being chicken-based, it had a deep flavor but wasn't as heavy as I expected. The broth was thick yet paired well with the noodles, so one bite naturally led to another.

I was especially glad we added the egg — a soft-boiled egg in the ramen made it look much more appetizing and went really well with the broth. If you love ramen, I'd recommend adding an egg.

How spicy is the kara paitan?
Kara paitan is basically tori paitan with heat added, and switching back and forth between the two you could really feel the difference. It still had that base of rich chicken broth, but the added spiciness kept it from feeling too heavy. If you personally like spicy ramen, kara paitan is a pretty solid choice.

Both dishes share a similar base but head in different flavor directions, so ordering both to share isn't a bad idea. Rather than sticking to one dish, I'd recommend going with two people and ordering one of each to compare.

Is Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong worth a visit? Final verdict
Overall, the place had a clean atmosphere and the air conditioning made for a comfortable meal, and I appreciated convenient touches like the coat hanger and the free rice refills. Most of all, if you love ramen with a rich chicken broth, I think this is a place worth visiting at least once.

If you're looking for a ramen restaurant in Eunpyeong, put Oreno Ramen Eunpyeong on your list. From the rich-broth tori paitan to the spicy kara paitan, there's something for different tastes, so it should suit ramen lovers especially well. Next time you're searching for good food in Eunpyeong and craving something rich, a bowl of tori paitan or kara paitan here might hit the spot.

And Oreno Ramen isn't just the Eunpyeong location — it's a ramen brand with several branches including the Hapjeong flagship, Insa, Songpa, Gangnam, and Jamsil Lotte World Mall, which gave me even more confidence in it. It's convenient to find a nearby location, and I'd like to visit the other branches when I get the chance.
