Samsong restaurant for hanchi mulhoe and dombe pork: Jeju Eunhui-ne
In short
Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch is a Jeju-style haejangguk (hangover soup) restaurant on the first floor of the e-Pyeonhan Sesang City Samsong retail building in Goyang, Gyeonggi, directly across from Starfield Goyang. On a weekend stop before shopping, the order was hanchi mulhoe (chilled squid soup, 16,000 won) and a small dombe gogi (Jeju-style boiled pork) instead of soup, and the mulhoe came loaded with squid and vegetables, the pork tasted clean with no gaminess, and the deeply savory house doenjang stood out. I went to Starfield Goyang over the weekend to do some shopping haha. While looking around for something to eat nearby, I remembered the Samsong branch of Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk, a hangover soup brand that started in Jeju. I heard they serve Jeju-style dombe gogi (boiled pork) and hantchi mulhoe (squid cold raw fish soup) there, so full of curiosity I went to check it out~

Where is Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch, and what are its hours?

This Starfield Goyang-area restaurant, Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk, is on the 1st floor of the commercial building across from Starfield, so it's easy to find and catches your eye right away as you pass by near Starfield Goyang~ The hours are long and you can park comfortably in the building's lot, so it was really convenient to visit haha. Plus, since all menu items can be packed to go, people living nearby might enjoy it comfortably at home instead of eating in the restaurant!

What is the dining room like inside Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk?
Walking into this Starfield Goyang-area restaurant, Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk, the inside was much bigger than I expected! The wood-toned interior was clean and warm, and I really liked it. In particular, there's a big, cute Jeju map light fixture hanging on the wall, which made me feel like I'd actually wandered into a local eatery in Jeju haha.

The order: hanchi mulhoe and a small dombe gogi
If you order the set, the portions are generous and you get to try a bit of everything, so it makes for a really filling meal or a great pairing with drinks~ This Starfield Goyang-area restaurant, Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk, has haejangguk (hangover soup) as its main dish, but since it carries the name 'Jeju,' we ordered 1 hantchi mulhoe and 1 small dombe gogi.

The rice comes as black rice, and that doenjang (soybean paste) is genuinely a special treat. I noticed on my way out that they sell it too.

It's such a letdown when the kimchi at a soup restaurant isn't good, right? But the seokbakji (radish kimchi) here was genuinely delicious. Crunchy with well-seasoned flavor, I kept reaching for it even before the main food arrived!

Not long after ordering, a neatly arranged full table setting came out, and it was pure abundance from the visuals alone. I tried the dombe gogi topped with mulhoe vegetables and squid together! The savory, warm dombe gogi combined with the refreshing, spicy-tangy mulhoe made for a truly artistic combination of sweet-salty and spicy-tangy flavors. If you enjoy drinking, two people ordering this combo plus haejangguk with a drink on the side sounds like it would be perfect.

Hanchi mulhoe at 16,000 won: how big is the portion, and how does it taste?
This Starfield Goyang-area restaurant Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk's Jeju-style hantchi mulhoe and small dombe gogi. The hantchi mulhoe I'd really been looking forward to!! There's no noodles in the mulhoe — it seems meant to be eaten with rice haha. I tried the hantchi (squid) first and it was incredibly fresh. Chewy squid and an abundance of vegetables too — this generous owner is really only charging ₩16,000 for this!!

There was so much squid and so many vegetables that I felt completely full and like I'd eaten something healthy!!!

Small dombe gogi: enough Jeju boiled pork for two to share
The dombe gogi that came alongside was neatly plated on a wooden cutting board, and just looking at it you could tell it would be moist and tender!! The 'small' size of dombe gogi wasn't a huge portion, so it seemed good for two people to order one and share nicely!! It was also just the right amount as a side dish alongside haejangguk or mulhoe :)

With zero gamey smell, the soft, mild dombe gogi wrapped in fresh lettuce with garlic and ssamjang (dipping paste) on top delivered a real burst of savory flavor. Is this actually Jeju?

The house doenjang at Jeju Eunhui-ne is sold separately
The doenjang served as a side dish!! It wasn't like a regular doenjang taste — the savory depth was seriously impressive. I wrapped lettuce with dombe gogi, garlic, chili, and a dab of this doenjang, and it was pure bliss.

The haejangguk, which is Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk's main menu item, is of course delicious, but you should definitely also try the dombe gogi as a special treat! The portion isn't overwhelming, so it's perfect as a side dish~ That special doenjang I dipped the dombe gogi and chili into! It was so good that they sell it separately, which caught my eye👀 I think it would be great to dip pork belly in when grilling it at home, or to make doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) with it.

Is Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk worth a stop near Starfield Goyang?
And if you love mulhoe, I'd strongly recommend the Jeju-style hantchi mulhoe too!! Especially in hot weather, the cool, tangy flavor really hits the spot, and I was completely satisfied 😋 I couldn't help thinking folks who work nearby probably eat lunch here a lot haha. If you're looking for a Samsong haejangguk restaurant or a great restaurant near Starfield Goyang, definitely visit Jeju Eunhui-ne Haejangguk Goyang Samsong Branch!
