Seochon wine bar and café with in-store wine market: Wine Stein
In short
Wine Stein Seochon is a third-floor space on Pilun-daero in Seochon, Jongno, Seoul — 377m from Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 1 — working as a café and brunch spot by day and a wine bar at night. On an autumn walk over from Gwanghwamun, the Lunch Club A and B sets and an iced Americano made the meal, and any bottle picked from the small wine market inside the shop gets opened for you at the table. The croissant sandwich, mushroom soup and chocolate-toned coffee are what stay with you at Wine Stein Seochon.

The third-floor building, the interior, and the Einstein logo

Getting off at Gyeongbokgung Station Exit 1 would've been the closest route, but I wanted to soak up the nice weather so I got off at Gwanghwamun and walked over 🚶🚶♀️ The Wine Stein logo visible on the 3rd floor — modeled after Einstein — was so much fun to spot!

The interior is totally my style🫶 The big picture window at the bar seats gives it an open feel, and the mix of different table types works so well in the spacious room!

There's a little wine market tucked in one corner of the shop, and browsing it while waiting was genuinely fun. So many wines lined up here — the display was pretty enough that I wanted something like it on my own living room wall🍷

Every little prop was so pretty I ended up photographing all of them📷

Tasting the Lunch Club A and B sets with an iced Americano

The iced Americano came out first. Why is the coffee here this good..?! It has a chocolatey note with really nice depth of flavor.
Set A: croissant sandwich with salad and pasta

Set B: croissant sandwich with mushroom soup

Both A and B sets come with the sandwich, and this croissant sandwich is straight-up delicious😝 The croissant is perfectly crisp outside and soft inside, and the fillings are so fresh🍀 The salad and carrot rapée are fresh, and the pasta has a rich ragu-sauce flavor that seemed like it'd pair beautifully with red wine! The mushroom soup had serious depth too🍄🟫 I really cleaned my plate, enjoyed the view along with the coffee — that was my Wine Stein Seochon!

Even the tissues at Wine Stein are cute. Next time I'm definitely coming back to drink wine.

Ending with a mirror shot🪞 taken on my way out — that's a wrap on this Seochon wine bar-and-café post, Wine Stein!
