Baby-friendly Peking duck restaurant in Suwon: Mirim Yangjang
In short
Mirim Yangjang Time Villas Suwon Branch is a Chinese restaurant on the 3rd floor of Time Villas in Suwon, Gyeonggi. Visiting on a weekday afternoon with a baby, the writer ordered a half Peking duck set with double portions of fried rice and jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and the restaurant provided a baby chair and baby dishware without being asked. The crispy-skin, juicy Peking duck was excellent, but the surprisingly good fried rice ended up being the real reason to come back.

Why it's easy to eat out here with a baby
I went to Time Villas this time craving Peking duck, so I stopped by Mirim Yangjang. When you're eating out with a baby, taste matters, but so does easy parking and a comfortable space — and since this place is inside Time Villas, it's easy to get to, the restaurant itself is clean, and the tables are spaced out enough that eating with a baby felt easy. Best of all, they had a baby chair.

Mirim Yangjang is on the 3rd floor of Time Villas Suwon! On the way to the Time Villas food court, there's this bright red storefront that makes everyone look twice, haha. There's even a duck hanging up, so it really grabs your attention.

It's really clean and comfortable! There are even coat hooks. The vibe is quite upscale. We visited on a weekday afternoon and there were people who looked like office workers eating there.
The Peking duck set and how to order
Mirim Yangjang menu board

Mirim Yangjang's menu board is outside, so you can check prices before going in! Then you order by QR code — scan it and the menu pops up. We ordered the Peking duck set. It comes with Peking duck plus 2 mains and a drink, and from what I found, the set is a half duck. We picked fried rice and jjamppong for the mains (three adults, so we ordered double portions).

When I mentioned we had a baby, they set us up with baby dishware and a baby chair! Mirim Yangjang Time Villas Suwon Branch really is a great spot to come to with a baby — I came in on a day I had a parenting class, haha.

Everything came out fast, which I appreciated. With the Peking duck, you get thin pancakes, cucumber, scallion strips, and sauce — you put the duck on the pancake with the vegetables and wrap it up to eat.

I'm in the anti-cucumber camp so I just ate mine with the scallion strips, haha. There's actually an option to leave out the cucumber too?! Anti-cucumber people, raise your hands 👏🏻

How was the Peking duck — did the baby eat it too?
The Peking duck I'd been looking forward to was indeed crispy on the outside and juicy inside. The skin was crisp and the meat underneath was moist, way better than I expected. Wrapped in the pancake with duck, scallion, and cucumber, the texture was great and it wasn't greasy at all, so I kept reaching for more! And what surprised me was that the baby ate the Peking duck really well too, haha. Even though it was the baby's first time trying it, they gobbled it up like a baby bird being fed.

Expensive Peking duck... it's been a while

The unexpected winner: the fried rice
Honestly, we went for the Peking duck so I didn't have high expectations for the fried rice. But it turned out to be genuinely delicious. The seasoning was spot on and not too strong, the kind of flavor that just keeps you coming back for more bites 🍚

The egg drop soup was tasty too, and I was so proud that the baby ate a ton of the fried rice, haha. My baby is a real foodie, seriously — always knows exactly what's good. I definitely want the fried rice again next time. The double portion had plenty of volume too. It's only +₩2,000, so I'd recommend everyone get the double portion 💕

The jjamppong has a subtle mala kick
The jjamppong tasted like a fairly standard jjamppong with a slight mala (numbing spice) touch to it. It's not like the mala flavor hits you hard — more like a subtle note at the end. The broth was spicy and the noodles were chewy, so it was good. Taking a sip of the jjamppong broth in between bites of Peking duck actually paired really well, haha. This one was my husband's pick.

Would we go again with the baby?
We went with the baby this time, and personally, being inside Time Villas was what made it easiest. Parking was convenient and the restaurant itself was comfortable, so taking the baby along felt less stressful. There's a baby chair and the place is fairly spacious, so you don't feel self-conscious at all. If you're looking for a place for a family meal near Suwon Station, or a restaurant inside Time Villas to eat with a baby, Mirim Yangjang seems like a solid option. Next time I go, I'm ordering the fried rice again for sure!
