Seongsu dessert café mille-feuille and whiskey pairing for guests
In short
Notldun is a French petit gâteau dessert café near Seoul Forest in Seongsu, Seoul. On a return visit, the writer took home the Pistachio Festival, Salty Caramel Mille-feuille, and Earl Grey Madeleine for guests, and pairing the mille-feuille with a chocolate-caramel whiskey turned out to be a perfect match. There's a Seongsu dessert spot my husband and I visited once and immediately thought, we have to come back here. Our first visit left a deep impression — the visuals were as luxurious as a hotel dessert, and the taste completely won us over.
It's a café near Seoul Forest called Notldun (노틀던), and I went back with a fluttering heart. If you're looking for a truly top-notch dessert spot around Seongsu or Seoul Forest, stick with this post to the end :)

Notldun location and hours

📍 Address: 11 Seoulsup 2-gil, 1F, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea (it's on the ground floor even though it feels like the second floor, haha)
⏰ Hours: Mon–Thu 11:00–22:00 (last order 21:30), Fri–Sun 11:00–22:30 (last order 22:00)
Where to park near Seoul Forest
Whenever we visit the Seoul Forest area, we always use the Seoul Forest Complex Culture & Sports Center parking lot. There's also the Ttukseom Reservoir public parking lot right next door, but it's often full, whereas the sports center lot always has plenty of spaces and feels comfortable. It's also a very short walk to Notldun, so parking is easy.
The showcase and menu lineup

The gorgeous showcase greets you the moment you walk in! Beyond the open kitchen, you can watch the chefs making desserts cleanly and carefully, which builds even more trust in the place.

Valrhona Guanaja 40th anniversary menu
On this visit, I found a newly added event menu! It's a petit gâteau dessert released to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Guanaja, the most iconic dark chocolate from the French premium chocolate brand Valrhona.

This is the Valrhona Madeleine Selection, softly coated in chocolate.
And this is the dessert called Guanaja, with dark chocolate, coffee, and caramel. My husband and I both love chocolate so we were tempted, but... since my wife is currently pregnant, we were a bit worried about the caffeine content and reluctantly let it go. If you're normally a fan of Valrhona chocolate, I think you'd enjoy this one :)

Review of the takeaway desserts
Order: Pistachio Festival ₩13,000 / Salty Caramel Mille-feuille ₩13,000 / Earl Grey Madeleine ₩4,500

This time I took home the Pistachio Festival, Salty Caramel Mille-feuille, and Earl Grey Madeleine.

Pistachio Festival, served to guests
We happened to have guests over that day, so I put it out as dessert — and the reaction was amazing! Haha. The shape was so precise and pretty that everyone reached for their cameras first, saying it seemed a shame to eat it.
I was curious what was inside — on top of a thin base layer sat pistachio mousse, with praline cream inside the mousse.
The moment I took a bite, I shouted, wow, this is pistachio itself, so luxurious! Haha. Not an artificial flavor at all — a rich, nutty pistachio flavor filled my mouth!

Our top pick, Salty Caramel Mille-feuille, paired with whiskey
The Salty Caramel Mille-feuille was so delicious on our last visit that it's our top-pick reorder. The crisp, sturdy layers of pastry, the classic sweet-and-salty caramel, and the soft vanilla cream come together perfectly.

And this one turned out to pair beautifully with whiskey! Pairing it with a chocolate- and caramel-flavored whiskey, the mille-feuille's flavor and the whiskey's deep aroma lifted each other up — a fantastic match. (If you like whiskey, I strongly recommend pairing it with Notldun cakes!)

Earl Grey Madeleine
We also enjoyed the Earl Grey Madeleine we brought home. Moist on the outside and soft on the inside, with the subtle black tea aroma of Earl Grey spreading through it — a charming touch. It was a clean, refined dessert to enjoy casually with coffee or tea.
Notldun didn't disappoint on our second visit either
Notldun remains a Seongsu dessert spot that didn't disappoint on our second visit! It feels like each small, delicate dessert — worlds apart from an ordinary cake — packs in all the care and luxurious flavor imaginable.
If you want to finish off a pleasant meal with a clean, polished dessert, or if you're looking for a high-end dessert for a special occasion or a housewarming gift, I highly recommend paying Notldun a visit!!
