Seongsu burger restaurant lunch set with eggplant fritters: bd Burger

There is so much to eat in Seongsu that I always end up wondering what to choose. I had wanted to try bd Burger’s wasabi shrimp burger for ages after seeing photos of it. Since I was in Seongsu this time, I went to bd Burger near Seongsu Station. I arrived right at the 11:30 opening time, and the seats filled up in no time. Having tried it myself, the patty was really packed with whole shrimp, and the eggplant and whole mushroom fritters were more impressive than I expected. Where is the entrance to bd Burger near Seongsu Station?

On your first visit, make sure you look carefully for the entrance. Find the bd BURGER sign outside, then go up the stairs to reach the restaurant.

Burger photos line the stairwell walls, so even the walk upstairs had plenty of character. That distinctive Seongsu atmosphere started right at the entrance.

Exposed concrete, brick, and a very Seongsu feel

As soon as you enter, the exposed-brick and exposed-concrete interior catches your eye. Rather than making everything look pristine and new, they kept the building’s rough texture intact, and that actually suited Seongsu really well.

The gray walls and colorful burger posters created a hip yet casual Seongsu vibe. The crowd was varied too, from office workers and students to families. With its relaxed atmosphere, it also looked like a nice stop during a Seongsu date.

What comes with the weekday lunch set

The weekday lunch set is available from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. We ordered the ₩15,900 double cheese burger lunch set, then paid an extra ₩2,000 to switch the eggplant fritters (two-thirds of the à la carte portion) for eggplant and whole mushroom fritters. We also ordered the ₩13,400 big-size wasabi shrimp burger and ₩2,900 corn salad.

The double cheese burger comes with a thick patty, cheese, and grilled red onions.

The patty was clean-tasting, without any unpleasant meatiness, with a subtle smoky note. The fresh grilled red onions were not spicy and balanced the richness of the patty and cheese nicely.

Big-size wasabi shrimp burger with whole shrimp in every bite

The menu I was personally most curious about that day was the big-size wasabi shrimp burger. True to its name, it was seriously large. The big shrimp patty and generous vegetables made it feel substantial from the moment I picked it up. But this burger’s real appeal was inside the patty, not its size.

Once I cut into the patty, it was absolutely full of whole shrimp. Unlike a finely ground shrimp patty, it had bouncy pieces of whole shrimp to bite into with every mouthful, and I especially loved that texture.

A fried shrimp patty can easily feel greasy, but the gentle sharpness of the wasabi sauce cut through the richness. Even at that size, I enjoyed it right to the last bite.

How were the eggplant and whole mushroom fritters?

For an extra ₩2,000, we changed the double cheese burger set to eggplant and whole mushroom fritters.

The eggplant was crisp outside and moist inside. The whole mushrooms retained their distinctive aroma and juiciness beneath the crisp coating. Of the ranch and chipotle sauces served alongside, the spicy chipotle was especially good with them because it cut through the richness.

The corn salad we ordered came with corn and vegetables. It was fresh and clean-tasting, so it was nice to eat between bites of burger and fritters. It was a side that brightened up all those rich flavors.

What stayed with me from bd Burger Seongsu were the wasabi shrimp burger’s whole-shrimp texture and the crisp sides.

It was worth considering if you are looking for a burger near Seongsu Station or deciding on a meal during a Seongsu date.
